Love ItLove It

My daily picture – I am keeping my eyes on you!

I’ve often talked about Maya and  less about Kitty here on Virily. That caused a little upsetting to my cat. To turn things around, today I’m going to tell you about Kitty.

Kitty is a Tortoiseshell cat. Tortoiseshell cats  aren’t recognized as a type of breed, the name merely denotes the color of their coat.

Tortoiseshell cats have a combination of two colors, usually black and red in in different nuances. My cat has  splotches of orange or gold. Usually these colors are rarer on the breed but Kitty is a special cat!

Generally tortoiseshell cats are thought to act their lives as if they were above everything. I do not know if that’s true, but Kitty has a “opinion” on everything. She tells me every time what that opinion is. At the same time she is also a very loving cat.

An interesting fact is that Tortoiseshell cats are predominantly female. Only 1 in 3000 Tortoiseshell felines is male. The astounding dominance of female Tortoiseshell cat  is as a result of genetics.

  1. Well hello gorgeous Kitty. My, what big green eyes you have sweet looking Kitty. You would enjoy playing with my Runt or maybe the other way around. Sorry Ileana, I cannot help talking to all the animals…

      • Runt is already featured here in one of my post. He is a lovely orange tabby cat and also a polydactyl cat with the thumbs on both front paws and six toes on his right back paw and 5 toes on his left back paw. He seems to have snowshoes all around. I will say hello to Runty Dumpty (as I affectionaly call him) from you…
