beneath the thumb
dead reckoning?
The speckles seem
to
grow with each
passing second.
If the shout echoes
does it return
to the origin
the origination?
Arguing
with the sound that was
to make
the sound that is
beneath the thumb
tacit and tactile
we feel the speckles grow
hear the sound of echoes
but the sound falls
on tin
and bouncing
launches into space
unheard…

I used to write poetry when I was younger, but it’s embarassing when I reread it now, haha.
some of the stuff I wrote years ago is horrible. I try to only share the ones that aren’t bad.
Good poetry very expressive. Poetry is great for letting out inner feelings and emotions. My father was a popular Latvian poet and writer and with his passing, he left me his poetic inheritance you could say. I started writing when dad was still around at 8 and then I wrote short little pieces in both Latvian and English. After he died when I was 10 I was never without a notebook in high school jotting teenage heartache poetry. Now I have been writing poetry for a very long time and have published two books of my poems. It is never too late to brush up and dust off your poetry and get it out there for the world to see.
that is amazing, I have read and loved, poetry and poets for years now as well! I always made sure when I was visiting a new city, that I f0uond the poets from that city that either was published where I was or was famous.
Wordsworth. Thomas Gray, William Blake were all poets homes I visited in the UK.
Your poetry is wonderful. I never wrote, but I like reading.
Each of us has gifts. You have a wonderful walk eye, for amazing pictures you take while walking!!!!
Thank you so much for your compliment. I agree, every man has the talent for which thing
That is very true – to each their own!
yess. nice post doc always unique:
Do you write poetry Hamza?
Yes, I write but sometimes hehe!
that is great! sometimes is enough for most of us!
I hope that all the sounds that glide into space talk to each other there even though it’s not heard here.
Yes, I have written poetry since I was in middle school, even though many friends were mocking.
I am sorry your friends teased you, Albert. I had the same issue until I got lucky and published several poems. Suddenly, my friends were willing to share the money!
Wow! Poetry is indeed luck for you, Doc!
It was my dream to be a poet full time. That didn’t work out.
It seems like it applies everywhere…
I never wrote poetry in my younger days. I do now but I keep it mostly in a journal.
Poetry is very personal, sometimes I skip old poems I wrote and I don’t share them. They are too personal.
I didn’t know you wrote poetry, that is awesome!
The idea whether the echo returns to its origin or is just bouncing back in space as it moves thru mountains and vales is a pretty picture. That you write it when you were 17 and still keep it on file is wow. I usually scribble quotes in my office planner which the janitor read everytime he cleans up my table ??? and of course the quotes get discarded annually ?
I kept my old poetry, not really sure why. But I have kept it.
I try to keep mine now that I started writing. But sometimes there are pieces I wrote at certain period which no longer appeal to me – – – like I have outgrown it. Especially the ones written for someone ???
I don’t keep the ones written for other people as well. Just the ones I wrote for my wife and shared with her.
