Making writing sites better, exposing a couple of rumors as rumors…

(The picture is of Phoebe and me)

A few exciting things – ads are working, and on the site, I am not sure where that rumor started on the site, but ads are still here. Always trust sources, but verify!

Here are some quick rules for fixing issues publishing on web sites.

  1. Only have one to two browser windows open at a time. The more you have opened, the more computer resources are spent keeping those windows connected. Ten windows open requires around eight gigs of ram, and 12 to 15% of your processor be devoted to your browser. More than ten windows open on your browser means you are taxing your computer!
  2. When you have issues with a site, try a different browser. I routinely try Safari, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. When I have a problem with one, I simply switch to a new browser!
  3. The value you, as the reader brings to the author, is the replies and comments. The more you reply and comment on an author’s posts, the closer they get to the limit. It is better to push someone to the limit every day with their comments and views. That way, the ear as much as possible! I guarantee if you reply to me, I will return that favor and respond to you.
  4. How many times do you post per day?
  5. If you refresh a poll after opening the page sometimes the yes and no option returns!

I’ve noticed a few declines in both comments and views, that in the end is sad. I have also noticed that posts seem to be gaining views. External lights are excellent; Virily gets paid based on external observations.

Right now, the reality for everyone is to maximize your earnings; you need conversations on your posts!

I hope everyone has a great start to the weekend!

      • I have no idea about the cause. The only fact that I am aware of is that several people experienced it simultaneously.
I can only speculate that you may have not been online at that particular time, or it’s something based on geographic location like it was with the porn ads in the past. Either way, it seems that everything is okay now. 🙂

        • it was probably a regional issue, but I was online when the post went up and I have had three different people ask me about on it on Facebook. Two of them told me that ads were gone for more than 10 hours.

my gut is it was browser-based, or ISP blocking in a region. i have readers that hate the ads that long in 24 hours a day (due to time zones) and none of them mentioned thank you for taking the ads down.

          • If you are referring to Grace’s post, she just asked whether anyone else experienced the same issue she did; I don’t see that as a rumor. I always like to say that the site keeps it fresh with the diversity of issues everyone faces here.

        • i didn’t even know grace posted anything, i don’t read her stuff. I don’t like nasty PM’s so i ignore her.

i was actually referring to two other writers that reached out to me.

interesting. all three are the same region, that narrows it down to an ISP issue most likely.
