People come to sit on the beach, to see the beautiful sunset. And get touched – how beautiful! And they promise to live more happily, love more, think less about money, more about meaning.
And the bird sings: “Nonsense.”
After all, the bird knows the next day will come, the holidays will end, or the phone will ring – we will forget our promises, and we will be as always: restless, worried, full of fear and greed.
That bird has been here for fifty years, has seen a lot of such as we and heard a lot of promises we have made. And I stood there for a while, said nice words to myself, and forgot the next day. One sunset won’t change me. But if I came here every day or every night to find something meaningful inside me, then maybe I would change a little bit.

Do you often promise something to yourself?

Yes

No

promises are the essence of the human contract. Both to ourselves and others. failing to keep them ultimately is what corrodes the world around us.
We often make promises based on our wishes, not on what we are ready to follow.
in fact that can be the case. but then we have to own that failure!
I try to keep the promises I made to myself, I make promises that I mean to keep.
Perfect. It’s the way we all should follow.
it is sometime very hard to promise something with own self
I think it is easy to promise, but it is hard to follow that promise.
I thought the three little birds sang “every little thing is gonna be alright”
Yeh, it would be good if this was the case. Let’s believe everything will gonna be alright
I want so desperately to do that
Lovely photo. I make sure that what I promise myself I also do.
That’s you are doing well, I am not so good at that.
I often promise myself things and follow through.
That’s great. I ofter fail to keep my promise to work less and go to speel before midnight.
I make promises to myself but sometimes I forget to keep them!?
Beautiful pictures, btw!
Me too. It is so easy to promise something but sometimes so hard to keep them.
It is a beautiful picture.
Thank you, this view is definitely beautiful.
Yes. And I always follow through, patiently.
Thanks for sharing yoour thoughts.
Thank you too. Our patience will achieve more than our force.
What you said is absolutely befitting a wise, hard working and honorable person who values the meaning and purpose of life.
Thank you.
