Got the news late last night that my 90 year old uncle passed away in the nursing home in quarantine, on a ventilator, from COVID. I had a feeling all week he was declining. The nurses stopped giving me information a few days ago. I was never added to the call list. Another issue I have been dealing with.
I have called all week, held for up to 30 minutes each time, waiting on updates about his condition. Something told me to keep calling. So I did. Finally at 11:00 pm last night I got a nurse to tell me he had passed just 10 minutes before I called.
I stayed out on my deck last night until after midnight staring at the full moon. A few clouds. Then it was like all of a sudden, the clouds left and I could see the bright moon shining. I snapped this photo with my phone.
Not as good as what I witnessed but it was very peaceful and comforting. He is at peace now.

Never take those around you for granted, right?

I’m sorry for your loss.
At least he is free from the suffering now.
He is at a better and peaceful place now,
watching over you and your family.
Perhaps he is with Dustin, having a nice chat.
I’m sorry for your loss, Carol.
Appreciate your kindness.
So sorry for your loss dear friend. Yes he is at peace now with his creator.
Thank you, it has been very difficult for months now.
I am so sorry for you. You do not deserve this. Rest in peace.
Thank you and he did not deserve it either. A horrible way to die.
i know how hard this is for you, your Uncle was very important. If I could carry part of the burden I would, but I cannot.
I am here, I will listen.
i am so sorry.
He was an extension of my Dad. The older brother. My favorite uncle. Such a loss. I had such hope he would pull through this virus. Thank you for your continued support. Means a lot.
i am here if you need to vent.
Much appreciated. The last few months have been a tough battle. But I got through and most of the time am still standing.
well it is good to have the strength to remain standing. sorry this happened.
Acceptance has been the hardest part so far.
Carol,
I remember you calling and checking on him. I am so so sorry to read that he died of the virus.
Thank you, I called so many times to check on him.
I am so sorry for your loss!
Thank you Michelle. Good to see you.
I am so sorry for your loss, Carol. May he rest in peace. Glad you was able to find some comfort in the moonlight.
Thanks, I always appreciate your support. It has been a very difficult several weeks. No contact with him at all. The moon was like a big hug. A sign perhaps from him.
Sorry to hear you have gone through all this. I also believe in signs from our loved ones that they have found peace.
Sometimes those signs are what get me through the day.
I am so sorry for your loss. I’m glad your experience on the patio gave you peace.
Thank you Karen, it was very peaceful.
Oh, Carol. I am very sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace. I hope the sight of the moon has calmed you down at least a little.
Thank you so much my friend. The moon was a huge comfort at midnight last night.
I am so sorry to hear this. RIP
Thanks very much my friend.
I am sorry to know about it. May his soul rest in peace.
Appreciate your comforting words.
I am so sorry to hear this Carol. I am worried also about my favorite aunt who is 92 years old. At least she still lives in her house and her daughter brings her groceries etc. Again sorry for your loss… but the moonlight is appeasing….
Thank you my friend. I have been so worried and could not talk to him for over a month. The moon was calling my name it seemed.
And I hope your aunt improves soon. Glad she is at home.
I would have been out looking at the night sky as you…
It was very comforting to say the least.
It is… I’ve done it many times in my life.
I felt so connected to the moon at midnight.
I felt myself part of the night sky… just expanding to fill it
