1. I wish I had a garden to grow tomatoes, and harvest it.

   • I completely understand you. During my life in a city, that was my wish, too and then I moved to a countryside and my dreams came true. 🙂

2. I am sorry your tomatoes were ruined, but at least you got to see the pretty flowers and maybe add some of the leaves to your spaghetti sauce? We used to thing tomato leaves were poisonous, well that is what they said, I never believed it. Now they are saying they OK to eat. Must be or I would be dead, rflol.

   • My grandmother used tomato leaves in some of her dishes which were very tasty. And again, nobody dropped dead. 😀

3. I have to explain this explanation in Slavic:
   Je li bilo rajčice? Nedavno čitam raspravu u jezičkog grupi. Čak i u srpskom jeziku je paradajz varvarizam, germanizam. Navodno je naša domaća riječ – rajčica ili još jedan sinonim – crveni patlidžan! 🙂 Paradajz je, kao, sasvim strana riječ.

   • Bilo je puno zelenih, pre nego su se svi podavili. Dakle, nijedan nije sazreo. U pravu si za ove jezicke nedoumie, s tim sto je i patlidzan varvarizam. To smo pokupili od Turaka. 😀 Da rezimiramo, najpravilnije bi bilo rajcica, al’ ostala imena su se vec isuvise odomacila. Sto se mene tice, dokle god je dobrog ukusa, ime mi nije bitno. 🙂

5. My tomato did not even give birth to anything – but it turned black before it ripened

   • That’s because of the weather conditions. The whole region experienced the same thing. 🙁

6. Also with us is the weather ruin the whole tomatoes

   • That’s the same in the whole region. But yesterday, I noticed a few flowers on three tomato sprouts that has left after all those rains. Hope to have some tomatoes, at least for seeds, to plant them next year. 🙂

7. I am so sorry to hear about your tomatoes! Here the problem has been the opposite: no rain for two months, and that is totally exceptional in Ireland 🙂

     • Normally I would say you are welcome to keep it, but this year? Too much drought 😀

       • Say no more, we’ll send it. 😀 This year, I was afraid, not only of possibility to be drowned, but also I could get rusty. Literally!

8. It’s a pity that your plants have been damaged by rain. Even Gandalf could not hinder such a situation. He once tried to stick the announcement board in his garden “Wind and rain are forbidden to enter”, still they don’t care.
   I am more fortunate because 60% of my plants are bonsai and the rest are garden ornamental garden plants.

   • Well, there is no such powerful wizard here, to resurrect dead plants. The whole summer was odd, so we can only hope for the best, next year. 🙂

9. Awe, I am so sorry about the rains. I heard they have been bad. You should try a tiny green house, you almost have one there over the tomatoes. Just get some plastic covering.. You probably still have time for some early girls?
   I didn’t start one this year, I have some left over grape tomatoes that decided to pop up where the old ones were. They have blight though.. ugh..

   • It’s too late now, to do anything about that. But for the next year, I’ll make a plastic greenhouse, but have to place it elsewhere, because of lack of space here.

10. It’s a shame that the plants are destroyed, the tomatoes are still good and the peppers are red and red, but they have not grown

    • The weather is so odd, we haven’t seen the proper summer yet.

12. Almost every year the Paradise collapses. Or for snails or one stinking (St Martin-smrdibuba)- or heavy rains.
    Terrible, I do not like the vegetables I love much more.

    • Last year was good, I had fresh tomatoes all the summer. This year sucks.

14. I grew tomatoes one year but it became easier to buy from farmer’s market.

    • You’re absolutely right, it’s easier that way. But gardening is such a fun. 🙂

    • The taste of Paradise from the market and garden can not be compared, trust me Carol..But

      • Oh I know, we always had fresh garden growing up. But not far from my home is a farmer’s market, the local farmers bring their home grown produce and veggies for sale.

      • I agree. Fresh vegetables, treated with 0 chemicals, couldn’t be compared to anything else.

        • Yes but the farmer’s market is coming straight from their garden to my home.

          • In that case, this is the best solution. 🙂 I always buy vegetables from local people. 🙂
