There are a number of Boardwalks in the world. The one at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware isn’t the biggest, the best or even the longest. It is simply the one my wife wanted to see one year for Mother’s Day.

The second video is a walking tour (at night) of the actual boardwalk!

We went two days before mother’s day four years ago. It seems funny now to talk about mother’s day spent walking along a beach. Around people and not social distancing.
We rented a house that was about 2 miles away from the beach. I have to admit that the place was uncivilized. (they did not allow dogs).
But it was just for a long weekend and the dogs were ok.
(ok they were both mad).
We ended up having a wonderful mother’s day brunch on the boardwalk!

There is a television series called Boardwalk Empire. I believe every country that has a sea owns a boardwalk. In Spain we have boardwalks, of course, Paseo Marítimo is called in Spanish.
i wasn’t sure, thanks pal! I never watched the Boardwalk Empire, it was about Atlantic Mafia right?
Yes, I have not watched the entire series but the chapters I saw were really good. The main protagonist is Steve Buscemi and I think it is set in Atlantic City
i knew it was in Atlantic City, just haven’t watched that type of show since the Sopranos ended.

No (3 votes) – 43%
Q: HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON A BOARDWALK?
Yes (6 votes) – 100%
That is a shame you could not take the dogs with you. I bet they were not happy to be left behind. Everyone spends their time their way on occasions. I hope you had a good time there.
we did, there are a number of US beaches that allow dogs on leash. We tend to go to those now!
It’s always nice to walk by the sea.
to the sea – i love walking in the surf, on the beach, or just near the sea!
That photo on top reminds me exactly of what Atlantic Ave the main one here looks like. Sometimes when I walk along there I wish there were other stores besides souvenir and T-shirt and beachwear stuff.
you know, I didn’t think about it that way. If I were a local or near local I would much prefer things other than tourist shops.
You probably saw Joe Biden there.
i think he lives a little further north in Delaware.
We don’t have a Boardwalk in our country. This is the first time I’ve heard of it.
i think it is a heavy US thing rather than global
I believe that If you have sea in your country you have a boardwalk in the cities near the sea
they do not have many in South East Asia, but i am glad to hear they are not only a US thing!
Perhaps the concept and word boardwalk is an American thing but the equivalent is in Europe for sure.
that is good to know – thank you!
Have not been on a boardwalk but seen many in movies and maybe one day.
they are really fun to walk on – the one in Rehoboth has so many cool shops!
I have read about that one. Thanks for the reminder.
no problem, i would think there would be more of them in the midwest of the US, but the only other one I know about is up in Chicago along with Navy Pier
We have footpaths like this by the beach some made of wood and fences to keep people safe, but no shops..except for across the street…We have quite a few walkways..
Never heard of anything named Broadwalk, but possibly like but unlike your broad walk..
i think it is a big US thing. Atlantic city had the first one.
