Interval Eating

The idea is simple and apparently quite healthy and successful. All of your meals should be eaten in an 8 hour period. After those eight hours you drink a variety of teas and water. It is really about giving your body the time it needs to digest and use the fuel that is needed in the proper way. It does take some getting used to and it is effective at losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight. 

I am up at 3:00 am. I don’t typically eat for the first couple of hours. I should now only drink tea and water in those hours. When I have breakfast my 8 hours begins. So If I eat breakfast or have that first cup of coffee, the clock is ticking.

If I start breakfast at 5:00am, I need to be done with any meals by 1:00 pm. 

If we have plans to go to dinner, my timing needs to be adjusted. I need to begin eating much later so I can enjoy dinner and that shakes things up for a couple days. My doctor says that variety like that is helpful as well.

I am doing this now to prepare for it to be a part of my New Year’s Plan to be more healthy.

Being healthy isn’t just about food. You will see a lot of different things as you see me set up my journey. It’s bound to be interesting.

  1. I have breakfast, lunch and dinner with a fruit break in the early evening. I am off added sugar completely for over four months. Surprised by the miraculous improvement on my health. Will never ever go back to sugar.

  2. We have some different believes about eating (though I don’t follow any of them … ooops) LOL

    Here we believe in eating well (nutritious) for breakfast, eating full for lunch and then less for dinner. Dinner is ideally before 8pm. After 8pm, no more food or even drink.

  3. My routine is different. First of all, I am a tea lover and drink Earl Gray mostly out of a big mug. Some mornings I am hungry and will have eggs and corned beef hash other mornings I don’t eat but then have something for lunch. After that, I eat a bit of this and that if I am hungry. Some days I start off with peach yogurt and have berries for lunch. It all depends on how I feel.
