But,
falling short I tumble
to the ground
and
scrape my knees on gravel.
Dabbing at the welling blood
I limp to the edge
of the field
and
finding a rock
sit
and wait for the blood
to congeal.
No tuffet
or spider
no curds and whey
just the sound of
knees
tightening
as the sun
beats down.
I reach again
for the sun
I did not learn from falling.
But again, I am not able
to grab the rays
and pull
the sun to me.
Tumbling to the ground
this time landing on soft
plants
I smile. I know I
will reach for the sun again.

Great photo to go with the poem. We have been having sunshine lately, so I hope you start having more sun, and less rain.
It is raining right now. I guess the streak was two-days.
Wonderful song. I think we all are looking for the sun. This is our life.
It has been a long, wet winter in the Maryland area. I am ready for some warm spring days, with NO RAIN!
There was similar weather in our land. I’m waiting for the sun
Sometimes, today I am just trying to slowly make it back into my home.
Glad you are back, we’ve missed you!!! and thanks! sometimes just making it to the door is more than I can handle.
Sound Like Great Lol 🙂
Thanks, I am glad you liked the poem.
hmm you;re welcome!!!
On the one hand
I seek to reach for the sun
but
on the other hand
I know that I
am the sun that doesn’t need
to reach myself.
Ah the journey to find the light.
Nice touch Albert!
I merely touch your touch, Doc.
You have a kind heart. Those who get to experience your warmth are lucky people. I think you for the warmth you shared today.
The compliment feels like when a great knight puts his sword on the shoulders of his members.
I felt the same way with your kindness my friend. And now we’ve knighted each other I shall dub thee Sir Albert.
It’s best not to, certain authorities can protest your decision.
🙂
Then the question would be is it an authority I feel has authority over me!
🙂
A good question to find the answer in contemplation.
it’s very hooooot. lol just kidding because it is super summer here now.
I remember the summer in Bangkok. I thought I was going to melt!
yes, and here comes Songkran.. whooooo… such refreshing.
That was my favorite Thai Holiday – we had so much fun!!!
yes, but i just experienced it here twice within my 5 years of existence here because I am usually out of the country.
I remember we stood by the pool with a bunch of future professors at the IPST and all threw water balloons at each other for over an hour.
hahaha. that’s fun… so you did not go to Central World or Silom which the main. OMG there was a sea of people there.
Our first Songkran day we were in Bangkok off of soi 12. We did not go tot he larger celebrations.
