With this picture, I join in on the challenge of crazy color. This week, Virily will be in green. I hope the picture is green enough to meet the challenge. It’s a little different. I made the picture when I visited the zoo. I saw many interesting animals. Among them was this bird. The puppy is especially cute. I can say that it is very interesting and in a slightly unusual color. Unfortunately, I forgot to look at the name of the bird. My memory sometimes “freezes” a little. Maybe you can help. I suppose anyone knows this bird and will be able to tell its name.

An interesting bird that has a ring. There must have been an inscription in the cage when you visited the zoo. If you go pay attention again, you might find the answer there and share it with us.

For this reason I really want to know what this bird is, so far it looks like a cross between a Swamp hen or a pigeon.

You know, I think Pamela Moresby would know the name. I am pretty sure this bird lives in New Zealand… I have seen one, just cant remember the name or origin. Lovely photo though Vidocka, good to see you!
I just looked it up, and yes Pamela has posted about this bird. It is the New Zealand Green Pigeon I believe.
No, its not a pigeon. More searching and this looks like some kind of grouse, but I cannot find it.

You are lucky to have a colorful bird there. Over here most birds are brown.
We also have mostly brown and black birds. This bird is a rare exception.
