This is one of my Vandas. They grow on trees normally being epiphites or you could grow them mounted on coconut coir and moss or on logs of wood and moss. They grow well in wooden baskets too.
They are fussy and need the right amount of light, shade, air and moisture. Over watering them could lead to root rot. They love slightly shady but airy spots and do well if you hang them on trees.
They bloom 2-3 times a year, the blooms last for a couple of months. They have aerial roots and you could propagate them from cuttings , making sure you cut right below the aerial root.
This plant was hung on a tree that had a branch coming into my apartment balcony. It has lovely thick foliage.

Orchid is one of my favorite flowers, but it’s hard to grow
I have some exotic plants but don’t consider myself as a collector Nice orchid and photo and colour
Thanks Pamela for the visit and the positive comment.
Beautiful flower, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Hina Hamid for the support and the visit.
Orchids are really beautiful flowers, dear friend … I had them at home but they all dried up … I don’t know with orchids
Yeah, they are fussy plants with very specific needs. I understand what you mean having gone through the same misery.
It was a little indistinctly translated …. I had orchids at home … but my apartment was all dry … it was probably too little moisture and too hot even though I watered them regularly … maybe I watered them too much. ..I don’t know … they are very difficult to maintain
I agree with you completely they are hard to maintain.
They are challenging to grow but so elegant.
They are indeed without a doubt.
That’s beautiful to have around. Orchids are not common for me to have. Maybe two in my lifetime. I do like seeing them though.
Its good you have even tried, I appreciate your visit and comment.
Beautiful photo , Love this one
Thank you so much Witty Feeds.
As I said in another comment on the orchid. She’s like a capricious woman.
Haha ! Lacho59 she is indeed!!!
Great shot. Love that color. I don’t do well with orchids.
I understand they aren’t the easiest plants to grow.
I truly appreciate people sharing these photos. I cannot grow them and here I can enjoy them.
Thank you Ghostwriter, glad you enjoy them.
Not just this orchid but I think every orchid needs particular care.
I do not go after exotic stuff but bring in the ordinary and give them dignity (lol)
Yeah as a family they are finicky, but ground orchid are not too fussy. They can take neglect to a certain extent.
what a beautiful flower! how much love you have to give, to produce something like this!
Doc, they are like babies you just care for them.
