Updating you on this 13th day since the bluebird babies were born in my backyard house. The photo attached is the female (eating inside the feeder), and the male (on top of the feeder pole). They are eating mealworms. Their favorite food. The feeder works because it is screened in to keep out larger birds. Most birds enjoy worms as well, this is the only safe way I have found to provide mealworms to the bluebirds. I still have mockingbirds and robins trying to get to the worms but all they can do is flutter their wings, they cannot get inside.
The babies will be fledging in the next few days. A sad feeling is coming as they leave the nest. But I am so proud of what I have helped accomplish. I provided a safe environment, food, water and shelter for these bluebirds to start their family. Now the rest is up to them.

And when he sings to you, Though you’re deep in blue, You will see a ray of light creep through, And so remember this, life is no abyss, Somewhere there’s a bluebird of happiness. Life is sweet, tender and complete, when you find the bluebird of happiness. ~ Bluebird of Happiness by Edward Heyman & Harry Parr Davies, 1934

You are always too kind Bradley. You are the inspiration. I thank you as well my friend. I do feel as one with my garden most of the time.
For me, it’s like an interesting movie series that audiences await, Carol.
That is wonderful to hear. I have had many suggest I write books about my experiences. Not just with the bluebirds. I have considered it. So glad you enjoy my happiness shared.
Something can’t enjoy by my own eyes would be nice if assisted by other happy eyes.
I agree Albert, thank you again.
As always, Carol. You’re most welcome.
I love the saga of the bluebirds! From the pictures to your talking about what comes next I am ready for the next installment!
Thanks Doc, it is quickly coming to an end but it has been great. I hope I can see the babies fledge, you have to watch every moment to catch this rare shot. Hopefully they will have another family.
Awesome! I’ve really enjoyed the posts so far…
I am glad to hear you all are not tired of them yet.
You will have to be constantly looking out to see them leave.
I know, one year I sat out on the deck steps with my camera. This year because of the heat I am watching from my computer window but it happens in a second. You can also watch the parents and kind of tell when they will leave.
That is so cool carol, great story and wonderful posts!
I have loved reading about the Blue birds and look forward to hearing from you concerning blue birds again.

Oh of course it is just you get attached to these little birds in your backyard. But they will be back.
Oh, how wonderful to see little Bluebirds fledging. I think they are such beautiful birds. And birds make such wonderful parents.
