Blue Jays love roasted unsalted peanuts. So I always keep some out on my deck railing and my feeder just for them. They are the only birds I have that eat them. These Blue Jays are such beautiful birds and their shades of blue colors are incredible on their wings. They are like the others, not very happy about the camera. So I have to be sneaky and take their photo from inside, behind the patio doors. Sharing the beauty with you and wishing you all a great day.
This photo shows how they pick up the whole peanut in their mouths. They also sometimes pick up two at a time, saving them for later I suppose in a nearby tree. As soon as they pick up the peanuts, the fly away, never eating them at the deck. Amazing to watch the different bird behaviors in my backyard.

I also feed them. We only have a cat, but there are fewer ones
Good for you, my cats are always indoors only.
Carol lives in the village and the cat is also outside
I actually live in a rural area and my cats are indoors with me. 🙂
But with us they are also outside
How is nice photo.
Bravo Carol.
Thanks it was a real challenge to get this photo.
The birds that visit the backyard get plenty of food to eat like bread and other leftover meals.
That is good but that also attracts birds I would prefer not to have. Glad you feed them.
It is my sisters idea to feed the birds outside.
The seed looks to be a big meal!
This is a whole peanut he has. That is what the blue jays love.
You captured the moment perfectly. Love it!
