Walking around in my backyard can bring many surprises. I had my camera with me this time. Looking up in the trees where I know bird nests are, I found this surprise looking back at me. The male and female parents were fussing at me as I was a little too close to their babies.
I moved very slowly and took a few photos, then came back inside. I do not want to be attacked or have the birds leave the nest too soon. You have to be very careful while getting close to these bird babies.
Care to guess what these birds are? I had to hold the camera as high as possible to get these. The nest was built high in the pine tree.
I will reveal the answer soon!

There is already an answer. However, I did not indicate the correct bird.Congratulations to babies.
Love the photo, and I see by your comments the answer is robin.
Lovely photo Carol. so pleased you have young fledglings in a nest. I wouldn’t be able to guess as these are american birds..They are lovely..
Our New Zealand robin lives in bird sanctuaries and are on the endangered list.
Thank you Pam, since I can’t have bluebirds right now, I am trying to enjoy the robins. I had no idea they were endangered there. That is interesting as we have tons here.
…. but we don’t have the NZ robin of course.
Q: CAN YOU GUESS WHAT TYPE OF BIRD IS IN THE NEST?
Cardinal (2 votes) – 17%
Bluebird (3 votes) – 25%
Robin (4 votes) – 33%
Mockingbird (2 votes) – 17%
None of these (1 votes) – 8%
And the answer is Robin!
I have to go funny and guess Dodo.
oh wait they are extinct.
Let me change my answer I guess an African Swallow as they fly faster than the European Swallows (if of course, you are a Monte Python fan).
I should have added that as an option. These are robins. Remember I showed the male and female robins with food in another post?
I do, and I did but I wanted to go for funny instead!
Thanks for the humor, I sure needed it. 🙂 🙂 🙂
I think sparrow if not wrong
These are robins. Remember I showed the male and female robins with food in another post? They were going to feed these babies.
Also, I do not dream of any birds that could have been … I circled Bluebird

I took a wild guess as robins. But what a great shot. Just hope you did not try to climb the tree to get this close. I assume you used a zoom on your camera.
Absolutely I used the zoom. My knees are still not 100%, so no ladders for me. And the parents would have probably attacked if I had gotten any closer. They were chirping away nearby as I stood there. Thanks, they are so cool to see.
I have no clue but i guess they are cardinals
These are robins. Remember I showed the male and female robins with food in another post? They were going to feed these babies.
Because I don’t know at all, I guess they are bluebird babies.
These are robins. Remember I showed the male and female robins with food in another post? They were going to feed these babies. This is what I have had no bluebirds this year. The robins have taken over the yard.
Beautiful picture. I’m not sure which bird is it. I decided between two. I’ll see if I have decided correctly
Thanks! These are robins. Remember I showed the male and female robins with food in another post? They were going to feed these babies.
Just an eye…hard to tell…
I don’t think I can tell even with full body…
nice capture btw!!
I know it’s hard, you see them both, right? There are still no hints to give. Many baby birds look like others. These are robins. 🙂 I talked about them in a post recently.
Hehe… I’ve guessed Robin because I remembered you talked about them…
seems like paying attention in class helps :p
I thought you remembered, you do pay attention to what I post. Thank you!
Very cute babies, and a great shot
I got lucky and this will probably the last one because they are almost ready to fledge.
That’s a just a guess. I really don’t know how to identify a bird. Thank you for sharing.
