Rain has been a visitor here for three days now. Another shower just came through. This makes for a lazy day. And it also calls for a special treat.
Chocolate chip cookies. I could not resist baking something sweet. There is something cool about being in the kitchen while it is raining. Now I love sitting and watching the rain. Also I enjoy being in the screen room to hear and smell the freshness of the rain.
But it takes me back to my childhood and my dear mother cooking and baking what seems like a lot. She was always in the kitchen. Sweet loving memories. Amazing what can trigger these memories. A gentle rainfall and it all comes back.

I like cooking and baking cakes very much. Your are wonderful.
I enjoy it as well, glad to know we have one more thing in common.
In certain things, we really are very similar ?
These are perfect baked cookies! I don’t know how to bake but I would love to learn too.
Thank you, they were delicious. These were very easy to make.
Baking is fun to do, and bring along with it great memories. I will have one of your cookies after I exercise lol.
Yes I agree and these were delicious. 🙂
The cookies look good!
Rain reminds me of childhood. Being hot in the summer, sweating, but seeing the thunderclouds and knowing that cool relief lies just beyond the first raindrop!
They are good Doc. And that is a good memory from your childhood. Sounds like oyu have many great memories. You are very lucky.
Thanks, Carol.
Glad the cookies were good. Warm Chocolate Chip cookies are my second favorite cookie of all time!
I love to cook, but especially this kind of biscuits I have not done.
So you call the cookies a biscuit? That is interesting to know. Good to see you.
I do not like the rain to cook, but I do not even know, dear Carol … I like to eat all the goodies that are in the picture
Maybe someone else will cook for you. 🙂
I love chocolate cookies but I’ve never really baked one (except that time my auntie gave me so pre-mixed dough)
I don’t hate cooking, but I rather not … hahahahaha
They are easy peasy to back, sometimes too easy, makes me want to bake more often. 🙂 The refrigerated pre-made dough is good too.
Miam, miam, these look yummy especially the one on the right with what looks like two little eyes and a little mouth saying No not me… Actually I do not like to bake and I rarely cook. But I do enjoy the sound of the rain coming down and I am not afraid of lightning or thunder. Hey if I give you my address can you ship some of those over here…
Yes they are still good. Love these cookies. You always bring a smile, a much needed one today. Thanks! 🙂 Sure, I will send you as many as you want!
I am happy I made you smile. BTW the word biscuit is French (at least it is here In French Canada). I am not sure where lacho59 is from but we have always used the word biscuits for cookies. That word if I know it well comes from the Middle Ages ” besquis ” which I am not sure if it is French or English or elsewhere. Anyway, just a little trivia just for you…
I think she is from Bulgaria. Thanks for this information. So interesting.
Nice post, yes I like baking too.
Thanks Pam. Have a great week.
The cookies look really good! I love baking too, especially cakes and cookies. It’s somehow very comforting, isn’t it?
Yes they are very good, I love them when they are still warm. It is comforting.
I love the rain. I like to keep warm by baking!!
Yes I love rain and baking. 🙂
