A Sunday Treat

Rain has been a visitor here for three days now. Another shower just came through. This makes for a lazy day. And it also calls for a special treat.

Chocolate chip cookies. I could not resist baking something sweet. There is something cool about being in the kitchen while it is raining. Now I love sitting and watching the rain. Also I enjoy being in the screen room to hear and smell the freshness of the rain.

But it takes me back to my childhood and my dear mother cooking and baking what seems like a lot. She was always in the kitchen. Sweet loving memories. Amazing what can trigger these memories. A gentle rainfall and it all comes back.

  1. The cookies look good!

Rain reminds me of childhood. Being hot in the summer, sweating, but seeing the thunderclouds and knowing that cool relief lies just beyond the first raindrop!

  3. I love chocolate cookies but I’ve never really baked one (except that time my auntie gave me so pre-mixed dough)

I don’t hate cooking, but I rather not … hahahahaha

  4. Miam, miam, these look yummy especially the one on the right with what looks like two little eyes and a little mouth saying No not me… Actually I do not like to bake and I rarely cook. But I do enjoy the sound of the rain coming down and I am not afraid of lightning or thunder. Hey if I give you my address can you ship some of those over here…

      • I am happy I made you smile. BTW the word biscuit is French (at least it is here In French Canada). I am not sure where lacho59 is from but we have always used the word biscuits for cookies. That word if I know it well comes from the Middle Ages ” besquis ” which I am not sure if it is French or English or elsewhere. Anyway, just a little trivia just for you…
