What In The World Is This?

Jason found this on his adventures locally (on the Eastern Shore of Virginia). He thought it to be a whalebone but is torn between it being an actual whalebone, a dinosaur bone, or something else. We don’t have it figured out, despite several online searches. Does anyone have any earthly idea what this could be? We need some serious animal experts on this case!

  1. I’m no expert on animals. My first thought was that it is some kind of cement object or part of one, but I can’t see the texture as well as you can. Have you notified the local university to see if they may have someone interested in seeing it?

    • We are not sure what it is, Alex. However, we have found humpback vertebrae that look very similar. I guess the next step is taking it to a marine biologist. We are surrounded by bay and ocean here…

    • Yes, this is the only one he found… It was out in the marsh. They would never allow an excavation there because we have very strict wetland rules and regulations here on the Eastern Shore of Virginia/Chesapeake Bay Region. The “energy” is very strange here.

        • The energy is quite heavy… It has a deep, mournful feel to it in many areas here. I suppose that could have a lot to do with this being the very beginning of America… Many very bad things happened here. A lot of the Native population was butchered horribly by two men named Coventon Corbin and Edmond Scarburgh who were key players in the building of our local government, which was extended out to build the entire country. The men who came here from across the ocean were murderous, evil, and greedy; but I’m sure that doesn’t surprise anyone that has read anything about American history or is watching everything unfold under Trump’s insanity.

  2. I have no idea myself. I have looked up whale vertebra all over the web, and found none that looked like this. I hope one of you educated on such things will know!
