Jason found this on his adventures locally (on the Eastern Shore of Virginia). He thought it to be a whalebone but is torn between it being an actual whalebone, a dinosaur bone, or something else. We don’t have it figured out, despite several online searches. Does anyone have any earthly idea what this could be? We need some serious animal experts on this case!
I’m curious. Have you found out what it is?
Yes! 🙂 Some experienced watermen let us know that this is a whale vertebra…
It is good to know that.
Nice and interesting post
Thank you, Perfectfeeds! I hope you’re having a great week! 😀
Wow lots of great ideas, have you figured it out yet?
We’re told it’s a whale vertebra? Still unsure lol
I’m no expert on animals. My first thought was that it is some kind of cement object or part of one, but I can’t see the texture as well as you can. Have you notified the local university to see if they may have someone interested in seeing it?
Thank you, Barbara! That’s an EXCELLENT idea! 😀
I would say a large mammal, either Whale or something else. A dinosaur may be possible.Looks like a socket for a very large limb.
Thank you, Pamela! 🙂 We’re still researching!
are you certain it is a fossil? bones don’t usually stratify like that…
We are not sure what it is, Alex. However, we have found humpback vertebrae that look very similar. I guess the next step is taking it to a marine biologist. We are surrounded by bay and ocean here…
Is that the only one? Is there no other bone where it was found? I think there should be a great excavation to find and do a study to ascertain the origin, what animal or giant aliens.
Yes, this is the only one he found… It was out in the marsh. They would never allow an excavation there because we have very strict wetland rules and regulations here on the Eastern Shore of Virginia/Chesapeake Bay Region. The “energy” is very strange here.
What do you feel with the energy strange there?
The energy is quite heavy… It has a deep, mournful feel to it in many areas here. I suppose that could have a lot to do with this being the very beginning of America… Many very bad things happened here. A lot of the Native population was butchered horribly by two men named Coventon Corbin and Edmond Scarburgh who were key players in the building of our local government, which was extended out to build the entire country. The men who came here from across the ocean were murderous, evil, and greedy; but I’m sure that doesn’t surprise anyone that has read anything about American history or is watching everything unfold under Trump’s insanity.
This is no place for an empath. Relocation is in the works.
For me, what is interesting is your ability to feel the energy and its nature there…
I feel a lot more than I wish sometimes.
I have no idea either, but now I’m really curious to know!
We are, too! So far, noone has it figured out :/
Beats the hell out of me. Dinosaur eggshell? Avant garde statue of a harp seal?
lol Beats the hell out of me, too, Paul! I don’t know much about animals… My focus is more on plants.
I have no idea what animal that bone is
Thank you for taking a look, Iacho <3 We still don't have it figured out…
I have no idea myself. I have looked up whale vertebra all over the web, and found none that looked like this. I hope one of you educated on such things will know!
Maybe someone will come along and fill us in 😉 If it were a plant, I’d be more help lol
I know it is a bone. What animal is what I cannot tell.
I can’t tell either, my friend. I know plants much better than animals. Thank you stopping by and having a look! 🙂
