The red spider lily is a perennial flower that is also known as the red magic lily. The scientific name is Lycoris radiata.
I have a good many red spider lilies in my yard. They are beautiful flowers and last for several weeks after they bloom. Mine have already bloomed this year and I will have to wait until next year to enjoy this floral delight again.This flower originated in China and Japan. The flower is reproduced by the bulbs underground which duplicate as time goes on.
The red spider lily is plentiful in both Louisiana and Mississippi. Do you have this flower in your area?

They are very pretty and different from most lilies.
I’ve seen that beautiful flower in a plant seller’s shop. The funny thing is the shopkeeper tells that this flower is not only believed to have a relationship with death but also a symbol of separation, or a lover who will never meet.
Oh wow. That’s interesting. I’ve never heard that before about this flower.
Each flower usually symbolizes something, but this one is a bit strange, right?

I do have them, I wrote about mine a few weeks ago when they were everywhere.
And if you remember I called these Tiger Lilies on another site. LOL. I was brain dead that day.

These bloom and stay pretty for several weeks. Mine have bloomed out now, but I still see them on other people’s yards.
Do not have. I have a similar one that is purple, onion chives.
