This was taken in 2013 and in the Winter Gardens of Auckland Domain.
I was looking for a macro shot and this one was it for today.

I have been to New Zealand and have great memories of that country, Lotus or water lilies as they are called in our national flower and I had a pond too. But when I spotted a snake we closed the pond
Your photo is a great capture.
Thanks Grace, I am not sure what country you live in? We don’t have snakes in New Zealand and I hope it stays that way.
Apparently there are other countries in the world that don’t have snakes.
I am from India Good that you do not have snakes but I read a lot about Australia having them
Yes, Australia has deadly snakes and deadly spiders. and deadly iguanas.
I like the water lily. But I’m sorry I have not visited a place where she has her to take a picture.
Thanks Elenka, this water lilly grows in a hot house and grows very large, the leaves are round and larger than any leaf I have seen
It looks like Lotus …
Both are lovely anyway 🙂
Great photo!
Thanks Alibb for your kind comments……

Thanks Doc, I think water lillies are lovely too.
Beautiful flower, Thank you for sharing
Thanks Witty Feeds, for your comments.
Wonderful flower, dear Pamela … even today I do not know if this flower smells something?
Thanks so much Lado, glad you like it. I could not get near it to smell it, this lilly was in the greenhouse
I can not even approach him … he grows in the middle of the pond
Wonderful flower. I only saw flowers in white in our ponds.
Thanks Vidocka, glad you like it
How beautiful. I love seeing them. Never get to see them in person.
This one is specially grown in a hothouse in the winter garden
