I was walking home from work 1 day and noticed that the cover, for whatever reason, is not on this drain. I couldn’t even see the cover nearby anywhere. These red railings should be appropriately placed standing up around this empty hole, but as you can see they are just laying across it. Now, you only want someone who’s not looking where they are going, and they could do themselves some serious damage. You often see people walking with their heads in their phones not looking where they are going. If this happens, they could easily do themselves some serious damage and, quite possibly, break something!
Well, I am gong to email this picture to my local Council and get their repair people out to sort it out. I think left like this it is very dangerous!
Yes, this looks dangerous and people can be careless.

That is a good idea to contact the office. There are people who are not busy on their phone and their eyes are focussed ahead, but one way or another they end in a hole.
This is very dangerous. I hope that the irresponsible person will be punished.

It does seem like a serious problem.
In an unsafe hole nearly four months ago, a 2-year-old child fell in Spain. The consequences were fatal. I hope there are no such in this dangerous place.
Oh goodness, I’ve heard many stories where children have fallen down holes. It’s terrible when that happens.
Glad you reported this dangerous hole. Many have fallen.
All it would take is for a curious child to go tumbling down that hole.
I have seen so many videos of people nearly walking into holes like that because they were focused on their cell phone.

i do as well – I am always nervous about covered holes on the street anyway. This shows why I am nervous!
