Tour de Thomas: Cycling in support of Sight for Kids

The weather peaked at 70 degrees today and best believe I had planned on cycling once I took notice of it the day before. And as always, I planned this ride on the go, but I did consider cycling towards Wicker Park neighborhood as I crossed N Western Ave into Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago. It was not until I hit the United Center (Home of the Chicago Bulls & Blackhawks), which looked beautiful off to my right hand side via W Warren Blvd, I decided on going towards Lake Michigan.

Once I hit Millennium Park, I then decided on making either DuSable Harbor, Navy Pier or Ohio Street Beach my turnaround point for this ride, which I ended up choosing Ohio Street Beach. I always enjoy the many sights along my routes, such as the skyscrapers, fitness enthusiasts, women and the sun glittering on Lake Michigan.

Enroute back to my apartment, I encountered a driver who wanted to ride with me in the future because of there being a lack of cyclists on the west side of Chicago. He, and I pulled off to the side and we exchanged numbers for a future ride. This slightly mirrored my last ride when I encountered the cyclist who coincidentally was an alumnus of two schools I had an interest in, which were Northeastern Illinois University and University of Illinois at Chicago. It inspired me to put together a future run/ cycling club in my neighborhood which I have had the interest in doing for years now since living in Hawaii. It would be beneficial for those living in the area because it introduces them to others that have an interest in getting into shape.

  1. Lol, that narrows it down. All of them! Hehe, thanks. And I have a treat for everyone once the weather warms up. I love capturing surises and sunsets, too.
