Elusive Plants ~ Day 334

1. There was a beautiful plant in my parent’s home. My sister screeched when I walked in, “Don’t even look at the hoya, it’s been growing for 30 years and you will kill it.” She’s right.

2. I really want to help you, but I have no idea what these are for one plant

3. The plant in the first, upper figure looks like some kind of fern for the rest of I’m not sure.

   • Thank you Robin, I will check that out. Did you read where the leaves will close if disturbed and at night, like the mimosa? Maybe ferns do that as well.

4. I really have no idea, wish I could help. Great photos of the plants though! Hopefully someone else will be able to help!

5. I asked my husband and he doesn’t even know the name of the plant.

6. Shouldn’t they be ineffable plants? I mean, they aren’t moving and hiding, are they?

   • No but they are special from my Dad’s yard and I want to know what they are.

     • I wouldn’t equate the term elusive with problematic identification, but I am probably just being pedantic again…

       • The name is being elusive I cannot figure it out or catch it.

         • So it is the classification, not the plant which is elusive…

7. Mimosa pudica L.). This plant, as soon as it touches, folds the leaves inward, as if it is embarrassing or running away from the attacker.

   • Yes Branka, that is why I originally thought the 3rd and 4th photos were mimosa. But I am just not sure.
