I often see sewing and clothes transformation tutorials and I finally decided to try making something myself.
I had an old pair of jeans that was way too low rise for me and I decided to transform it into a skirt. Even though I am not very good at sewing, I think it was a successful experiment. I watched a ton of tutorials like the one embeded in the post before that to be sure of what I am doing. In some of them, they used a sewing machine, in others they just used fabric glue. However, I saw mine by hand. Also, I decided to make my skirt longer and I made the bottom distressed. The easiest way to do that is by using plucks to remove the horizontal fibres that are visible from the wrong side. I have even seen skirts that look exactly like this in the store, but I think it’s always fun to give a new life to an old item.
Here are some more useful tutorials that show this method:
What about you, do you like sewing? Have you tried making something yourself?

I love upcycling old clothes as well . Good Job.
It’s always great to turn something old into something new. 🙂
Nice tutorial that youtuber should say thank you I got views lol
Haha, they deserve the views since the tutorial was useful for me.
Thank you for stopping by!
Very interesting. Many people will find this useful
Thank you so much, I hope so!
It’s a waste of money too cutting those jeans
It depends. In my case, they were too small and I weren’t able to wear them anyway. But as a skirt, it fits me and I don’t have to buy a skirt. 🙂
Cool! In high school, there was a subject that teaches students about crafting, sewing included. I am a dummy in such things so I deal with it the way I deal with my Algebra class. Find someone who knew what I don’t and who don’t know what I knew ???
We had an embrodery class once and I was so proud of myself, but my grandma saw my work and said it’s a total mess. Apparently, the teacher didn’t care much. 😀
Lol! I had that one too and the crocheting gaaahhhh I all suck in those stuff ????
Congratulations. You did it fine
Thank you! But that on the video is not me.
reuse. recycle. repurpose.
Sometimes, it’s ruin. XD
That is amazing creative idea. Fabulous!
Thank you very much, Pamela!
There are some great ideas here.
I am glad you like them!
Thanks for stopping by!
This is a really great idea, dear Ellie … I’m sorry I can not sew
Thank you for sharing your opinion! I can’t either, but it didn’t stop me, haha.
With great pleasure, my dear friend
I appreciate your resourcefulness to make something new out of the old.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Waoo this is a amazing idea . Very nice
Thank you so much! 🙂
Awesome! Before I started working in the government, I would spend my time sewing. I can make pillowcases, curtains, and other items. I know a little in cutting and sewing clothes. But my most favorite is designing bags. When I was in college, I was accepting orders from my classmates. Lately, I realized that I haven’t been sewing anymore. Proof of this is the number of items which need to be repaired but could not do it anymore.
This past week, I started planning of purchasing a high-speed sewing machine which I could use for my personal needs as well as for future business plan.
That’s awesome! I hope you’ll be able to find some time to continue enjoying sewing!
I think it’s very creative and cool, Ellie, but I certainly don’t dare to wear it.
You are definitely more stylish than that!
So you think I’m suitable for wearing a gown?
Haha, as long as the color suits you!
When a person has a desire for something and is stubborn he achieves it. You are an example of this with your sex.
Thank you very much!
This is a wonderful idea. I do not know if I would succeed because I’m not good at sewing
Thank you! I am not good either, but it was definitely fun!
What a great idea. I have many pairs of jeans I need to try this with.
Glad to hear that! There are some other methods but this is the one I like the most.
