A lot of people are saying they have a long wait to get a fidget spinner. Local stores sell out quickly, and some of the online stores take a month or more to ship the toys once the order is made. That’s a long wait for someone who really wants one!
But did you know you can make your own DIY fidget spinner? There are literally dozens of different ways to make these cool toys, including one where the fidget spinner is made of chocolate! (Maybe that would be a solution for the child who accidentally swallowed the bushing from her fidget spinner?)
If you aren’t very good at waiting, check out this video that shows you three ways to make a fidget spinner from items you have in your home. Some of these just take a couple of minutes to complete and use!

I hope you’ll let me know if you try making this yourself 🙂
Nice 🙂 My nephews will adore this.
It’s a few months later and my kids aren’t really playing with them anymore. I guess it’s time for the newest fad?
Apparently 🙂 Children’s imagination is in constant seek for new challenges. Thanks God on that, because that moves us, grown-ups, forward in finding interesting projects to make. 🙂
Or in my case, I wait for the kids to show me what they’ve created 🙂
Hahahaha,that’s good, too.
I love creative
Me too, Jerry!
Awesome ideas! I love creative diy projects.
My kids are huge on this kind of DIY. It amazes me what people can do with things you find around the house.
Yes most definitely agree with you.
Many kids use them to focus in school, too.
Yes they are very popular! My son enjoy using them when he gets home from school.
It’s a good way to unwind after school!
My friend are selling these, it looks amazing.
Way cool! Did they make the spinners too?
yeah, i recently saw this at the mall. it is good idea to carry with you when you have to wait in a line for something, like a modern yo-yo toy.
Exactly what I was thinking, Fifi! I think it promotes a certain amount of dexterity and it allows people to enter a calm, meditative frame of mind in stressful or boring settings. It’s very easy to focus and to block out whatever is going on around you when you are spinning a fidget.
How interesting… and simple to make!
I was really surprised about how fast and easy these ones were to make! My daughter’s bottle cap spinner was much more complex.
That’s cool that you can make your own. I like some DIY projects, just don’t know about doing this one myself.
These are easier to make than some of the other DIY spinners I saw! But I get it that not everyone feels at ease with this kind of hardware.
And I bought my grandchildren. Two euros one.
Ours were probably about the same. I think my mate paid about $5 CAD for each one.
How cool!
I think the chocolate one would be fun to have – but messy too!
I keep hearing about these. The latest craze for kids, eh?
They are actually intended to be therapeutic. Many people who have autism or ADHD use them to calm down and focus when they need to sit still for periods of time.
My kids have both bought spinners in the store and my son has made his own as well..
My mate bought them for our kids too. But my youngest is fascinated with making DIY fidget spinners. She made one from bottle caps.
Thats cool about the bottle cap one.. I will mention it to my son to see if he could do that!
Tell him to look for a DIY video for it on YouTube. This is where my daughter got the idea.
