I often suffer from back pain and usually what helps me the most is yoga and stretching. I am going to post more exercises soon, but here’s the one stretch that always helps me no matter whether the pain is in my upper or lower back.
There are two ways to do it and here is the one I prefer. For the single knee twist, raise one knee at a 90-degree angle, flex your bent leg to one side and your head to the other side. At first, it may not be very easy to perform it, but it will get better over time.
For the two knee twist, perform the same stretch but with both legs bent at a 90-degree angle. Here’s how to do it:

Thank you for sharing that with us. I have suffered from lower back pain so asked one of my physcial therapists what can do. I do the warm-up that runners do by stretching on a bench, but, I do it on my bed and something else and that helps me out.
I am happy you have found relief! I have lower back problems too, and there are two particular streches that helped me a lot. The first one, I stand on my toes and strech my arms are as high as possible. The other one is basically every variation of this exercise: https://www.whyiexercise.com/images/exercises.for.low.back.pain.press.up.jpg
I don’t have back pain, but these look like good stretches.
They are very good for any health routine.
Thanks for the useful information. I also have problems with pain in the back
I hope you find the right solution for you!
At the moment, I’m going to Bown’s therapy and I can say it helps me a lot.
That’s great to hear! I hope you’ll be completely well soon!
My daughter keeps telling me to try yoga for my Fibromyalgia pains, so I will try your thoughts. great helpful information!
I hope that yoga will help you! Thank you for stopping by!
I am glad to hear that! If only I did it more often! 😀
So useful article with great health advices, thank you very much for it!
Thank you very much! I am glad you find it helpful! 🙂
I should really get back to doing my exercises. It’s hard for me to use a mat on the floor because it’s hard for me to get up from the floor. I do most exercises on my bed.
Yes, unfortunately this may not be useful for everyone, but if your bed is hard enough it may work. I also prefer standing exercises, but this one is very helpful in my opinion. At least now I have an idea for a post with standing poses. 🙂
Yes. I’d like to read that one.
Great post, thank you for sharing this !

Very nice exercises. I can apply them when I do not go for a walk.Perhaps the cat does not hurt her back. Great stretches do.
Walking is also great! And cats are so flexible, I envy them.
I started using some of the stretches you shared 10 years ago. My back only hurts occasionally now (it used to hurt almost every day). Love these!
That’s awesome! I had problems a few years ago and yoga/stretches helped a lot. Then, I got lazy and stopped doing them, and now the problems are back…
That is the problem with backs, knees and other limbs. Over time they just stop wanting to continue!
In my case it’s mostly my fault because I have a bad posture.
Your tutorials are very helpful.Thank you.
Thank you very much, Pradhan!
Thanks for sharing these videos! It’s always useful knowing some natural ways of pain relief…
Thank you very much for stopping by! There are many other ways, but I find this one very powerful. 🙂
good one but we should develop a habit of at least 15 minutes daily exercise to improve physical and mental health.
That’s true and it’s worth adding this one to the routine.
Thank you for sharing the way to beat back pain.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope it will be useful for someone! 🙂
It will be useful since my relatives and myself get back pains when we get cold weather.
Cold weather makes problems worse indeed. Warm shower and hot foot bath can be helpful in this case.
Thank you for the advice that is very helpful.
This is a great . Thanks for sharing!
