Silent Night – Plácido Domingo

source

The text for the song Stille Nacht was written in 1816 in the Lungau town of Mariapfarr near Salzburg by the priest Joseph Mohr and was created during the war and difficult times in Napoleon Europe. The music was written two years later by his friend from a nearby village; organist and choirman Franz Xaver Gruber. Its lyrics have been translated into more than 300 languages and are considered the most performed song of all time on a global scale. The first to make this famous song was Jakob Aljaž; it was first sung in Tržič in 1871.

  1. Plácido Domingo is in the news In Spain these days so often. Many women have accused him of harassment and now he does not sing in United States anymore. He is a legend but now his fame has been weakened because of these accusations. I do not really like classical music but I know Plácido Domingo is Spanish

    • Thanks for watching ….. I’m not here to judge … I like the song so I shared it with you … until they prove him guilty he is innocent ….. P.S. these convictions against the rich are getting more and more interesting to get their money’s worth … that’s my opinion, dear friend
