“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us.”
– Alexander Graham Bell
This one hit me right between the eyes. I have not been looking for open doors. I have been hanging out at a closed door and worrying. This has to stop. It cannot continue. I have to step away from what is right now and create a future. Endless hours worrying about what was and things I cannot control have become cumbersome and have stopped me from living today. I need to get to living in the moment. This quote was a great reminder.

that is a wonderful quote. I also love to remind myself of when the Lord closes a door somewhere He always leaves open a window, therefore, hope for the future and a way to carry on.
Like this quote very much!!! So great that you’ve shared it!!!
in the moment.
seize the day
today’s the day.
Rise to the occasion.
You miss every shot you don’t take.
All are great platitudes. The reality is it is hard to remain always in the present. Keep going, keep trying!
I agree with this quote.
I am a fan of Alexander Graham Bell and maybe I was named after him.
Maybe set a “worry time” and then try not to worry outside of that time …
someone share this with me, not sure it helps,
I have trouble in that area. I think and dwell upon the past a lot. It was a happy and fun time for me.
I have heard people quip that “we should forget the past – everyday”. I don’t know if there is an attribution for that.
Have a great and interesting day now, and now, …
That is a good one I have heard all my life. Another is…. It is what it is.
Power in those words. All about acceptance.
