Lately I have been repeating the same cycling route which starts out in Chicago neighborhood East Garfield Park headed through West Loop, and all the way to the inner downtown area known as the Loop. The only difference in this route compared to my previous routes was my turnaround point which during this ride ended up being the Buckingham Fountain after I considered Soldier Field my turnaround point, as I entered the Lakefront path. Sights along my out-and-back route are shared below.

Per, a request by a Yelper I brought my camera stand to get a selfie shot next to my TCR Composite 1 road bike. If you look closely you can see the Buckingham Fountain in the back.

Indeed, very nice architecture and locations ?.
Thank you for dropping in, Gogata
My pleasure! I would gladly join you for a ride there, but that’s not possible. Maybe in the future ?.
Thanks, Tasart. They seem to love that on my Lookbook page because most fashion sharers do not have personalities.
Some of the workout clothing that I share it is out of the ordinary compared to what is shared on the fashion site. People will share workout clothing on the site, but the person does not look as though they work out. Brings different energy; )
The pose/or facial expression shows my personality and excitement to workout ; )
I cannot say boring because you do add more of a conversation to the comments versus dull. I do have to take the time to read your comments because I know that your comment is not just on one thing featured. Nothing wrong in that. I actually like that because it isn’t robotish.
The robot’ish comments can be a headache at times because I literally try to respond to everything. Robot’ish replies seem as though the reply was was not authentic. Seemingly as though it was not read or either commenting the same thing everyone else has said. My replies are very plain with robot’ish comments. Typically I just thank them for dropping in.
Were you one of the users that received a payment this period?
Just checking. Seems like there are many.
Nice photography along the way.
Thank you, Carol. Always a pleasure sharing them : )
An exciting route! Love your outfit, it is excellent!
Hehe, thanks. I enjoy sharing these because it gives everyone a tour. I would like to add video’s this summer for better feel. It will give my YouTube page some activity as well.
I think I will virtually follow your tours this summer 🙂 Chicago deserves being explored thoroughly!
It will be a treat without even hopping on a plane to visit the city. I’m going to put out a poll really soon to get a feel of the languages everyone speaks, so I can translate it for better understanding.
It seems that it is a pleasant route to go through.
A very pleasant route, despite it being congested. I try to make them as safe as possible by being alert.
nice pictures Thomas… Places like these are really nice to visit. How’s school?
Thank you Mavic. I actually just graduated from school. I have shared it in a few previous posts, but nothing specifically about graduation day itself which was amazing ( https://virily.com/lifestyle/class-of-2019/)
ohhh sorry been out for awhile. thanks and congratulations!!!
Thanks Mavic. I am about borderline ready to take a break from this site.
I don’t have that much actually, I just answer my notifications then read some articles that’s it.
Probably once I receive my next pay, I will take a break, but still putting together writings to share once I return.
ok good for you, Thomas, sorry long time to reply I was busy.
That looks like a great ride, I used to walk to Buckingham Fountain and have lunch when i was working in downtown Chicago!!!!
I shared a great review about the Buckingham which mentions why I’d visit it and still do to this day as a resident. It always gave me that sense of being home during my military years.
Thank you for your service.
It is a wonderful place to relax in Chi Town!
I’m getting the urge to venture out today. Just contemplating on the route.
always fun. Our route for today is already set.
Part of me what like to ride my route taking me down near magnificent mile. There is a nice park in the area that I love to do my upper body workouts out before I entered the lakefront trail.
That is one of my all-time favorite walks. I used to work in the AON building on the lakeshore and other buildings along in that area.
Almost rode Mag Mile route yesterday, but ended up rerouting due to caution. I left out kind of late and wanted to save myself the headache of cycling in the more congested areas of the city.
I remember back in the day when I worked in downtown Chicago. If I left the customer’s office at 1 pm I made it home, no traffic. Literally 3 hours and 20 minutes door to door.
at 2 pm that was 3 hours 40 minutes
at 3 pm that was 4 hours
at 5 pm it was 5 hours
at 6 pm is was 4.5 hours
Chicago has bad traffic later in the day!
Wow! That is brutal. Before searching for my internship that was something I had to take in consideration. I did not want to do an internship in the South Shore area, then try and make it to work after. I have always searched for everything near train access.
Redline Maryland to DC, 1 hour. No matter the time of day!
Riding the train in DC was actually my 1st introduction to train systems. I used to ride the train downtown to watch WWE events while stationed in Arlington VA.
How long were you in Arlington? I drive through that part of the world at least once a week.
I actually rode the Redline into DC yesterday!
I lived there for like 3 years. Right now they joined it with Ft Myer Army Base, which opens up more opportunities for us Marines on the base.
what was your specialty in the Marines?
I have had many billets considering the fact that I did 12 years, but my primary job was motor transportation.
I have experience in many different things from substance abuse counseling, administration, recruiting, and family readiness where I was the liaison between the families and the unit.
two full tours, that is impressive!
I would et, as a Marine you get a lot of hats!
I pride a lot of the experience I gained
You should be proud of it!!!!
Being military alone is an eye opener
Beautiful photography , I like it
Thank you very much, Witty
