This is a beach in Carlsbad California.
Carlsbad is a seaside resort city occupying a 7-mile (11 km) stretch of Pacific coastline in northern San Diego County, California. The city is 87 miles (140 km) south of Los Angeles and 35 miles (56 km) north of downtown San Diego. It takes about 10 minutes to get here by car from where I live.
The beach below is a local surfer spot, it is called Terramar Beach.
It’s quite narrow and often is completely covered in waves, but that doesn’t bother the surfers that have discovered this great surfing spot. At low tide this is an excellent tide pooling spot nicknamed the Carlsbad Tide Pools. My Grandson and Meika really love it here.
Here it is as the high tide is coming in and taking over the beach. The sea wall here is a natural bluff wall that is around 10 feet high, but has places to climb down.
This is my grandson. He is asking me if it is okay to get down to the sandy part of the beach below.
A surfer boy goes past. My grandson watching him.
I named this one, ” I want to be a surfer”.
The dogs Meika (white) and Penny (tan) are enjoying the day.
Although I wouldn’t let my grandson go down there, Meika thought it was okay.. and was asking my grandson and Penny to come on down.
Little did she know seconds later and the beach would be gone. Time to get back on the bluff.
Another one of the dogs and my grandson.
And this one of the surfer.
It was a fun afternoon at the beach!
Enjoy!
