Snapped this grackle hanging out in my backyard sycamore tree. They now have many nests all around in the cedar tress. Some babies have started fledging already.

Here you'll find all collections you've created before.
Awe, what a pleasure. And that they are nesting there too. I watched a video last week of when they migrate. It was such a huge flock and they landed in a Walmart parking lot for a rest. The people were actually afraid of them. lol.
That is a perfect picture, the yellow eyes, the iridescent feathers are even visible. Nice job!
I forgot to ask. What are the bluebirds doing? Did the robins win?
No robins right now. They are at the house every day, protecting it, but so far no nest. Maybe they are not mature enough. Frustrating. 🙁
great picture, I love that you inspired lajenna to create an amazing work of art.
way to work together!!!!
Thanks Doc, trying to help others.
i love the inspiration and creation that occurred!
LaJenna is a friend and I am so happy to see her drawing. Makes me feel really good.
This new Virily benefits authors like you! You’ve done conversations every since I’ve known you!!!
Such a gorgeous and impressive bird! I learnt about it from an old post of yours. Great photo!
Thanks, I have a lot of these in the backyard.
That is a very lovely grackle. It looks like he’s sitting there and listening and wondering where all the people have gone because now it is probably quieter than at any usual time.
And probably listening to see what I am going to do with the camera. 🙂
This Crackle has a very strong looking beak. Beautiful photo.
Grackles are intelligent and can be aggressive when they are nesting. Thanks.
The Magpie an Australian bird is the same way inclined.
Interesting bird. I first thought she was a crow.
She is in the crow family. Very large birds.
At first I look like a crow. I really liked the shiny plumage in blue green.
Yes the blue-green is always a sign of a grackle.
This bird looks like a great subject to draw.
You should draw this one. They are pretty birds.
your drawing was amazing!!!
I thought it looked a little like crow to me … LOL
Oops I think coz its black
It is in the blackbird/crow family but see the blue-tree color right below its head? That shows it is a grackle, plus it has yellow eyes.
