One of the things that I always do when I get a new phone or tablet is buying a screen protector. It is honestly the quickest way to protect the screen of your device. I have been doing that for many years. The only time I cracked my iPhone screen in all the years I’ve owned a smartphone was the day I dropped the phone earlier and ruined the screen protector (I had one of the glass protectors). As fate would have it, I had the phone in my hand at home when I found the second patch of ice for the day and lost my balance; the phone went flying. Phones can land facedown with a projector, and the screen will not crack. They can face up with or without a projector, and most likely, they will not crack.
They cannot land on the corner h9woever, they crack. So I always have a screen protector. I also now that I use the iWatch don’t take the phone out of my pocket as much. The other thing that a screen protector does is keeps the smudgy fingers off your actual phone. But did you know that was a security risk for you? You see, the smudges on your phone screen or projector algin to the numbers you press for your access key (if you don’t have an access key today, I will set one). I use the Windex electronics wipes. I store them in a sealed plastic bag (that was my mother-in-law’s recommendation 20 years ago, and honestly, it works. The wipes last 2-3 times longer.
What they do is remove fingerprints from the screen protector. That reduces the risk of you revelating your phone passcode accidentally. The other thing we have is a device called PhoneSoap. What phone soap lets you do is place your phone in a cradle that kills all the germs and bacteria on the device. It, your phone, often lives next to your fingers, and your face, knowing it is clean, is a good thing.
My four recommendations for phones are detailed below!
- Set a passcode for your phone. Yes, it is only a little bit of projection, but it is better than nothing!
- Put on a screen protector to help your phone stay well, not broken!
- Get some electronic wipes and clean your phone’s screen.
- Finally, get the PhoneSoap Device. It will kill the germs on the one thing you often put to your face!!!!

I always have a screen protector. Thank you for this post!
do you ever clean the device?
I suppose you mean on the screen. Of course, I clean.
actually the entire device, it is amazing how much bacteria your phone keeps on it!
How to clean it? What with?
take a soft towel, spray window or another cleaner on the towel, then gently rub the entire phone!

The phone soap UV cleaner system is the ad chosen by Google Adsense for this post. Adsense actually “parses” the post looking for keywords.
you can try it, simply embed a word in your post (put in in parenthesis like this) (Jumbo Shrimp) and check the ads after the post is live.
My phone screen was just cracked yesterday. I have the screen protector put on when I first bought the phone, but I don’t know if it helps. Luckily the crack is considered quite small and at the corner, so I just ignore it now.
I already have my passcode set, but that’s because I want to prevent my kids from using my phone without me knowing it. 😛
Thanks for all the tips. I am not using electronic wipe and also phone soap device yet. I’ll go and check them out. 🙂
yes you have young kids. i remember the days of young kids. I always had my phone locked! Screen protectors reduce the risk of dropping the phone, but sadly if it hits a corner, you are out of luck.
I have protected the screen and the phone is in ‘cover!
that is very smart – i keep looking at covers but never buying one./
I’m very happy with the covers. My phone has already fallen to the ground.
i haven’t had one in a long time, I am going to check them out!
Like the slice of bread that always falls butter side down, phones fall on their screens. Pretty annoying!
Thanks for the reminders!
ok you made me laugh! it is like bread butter side down!!!!
I don’t have a screen protector for my phone … I have it in my case and it hasn’t happened to me to hurt it yet …. I also clean it every now and then with a refreshing and disinfectant wipe
that is really important! i don’t have a case, so I use the screen protector!
This seems very clever …. I also had a screen protector when I didn’t have a case … you can quickly damage the screen
I remember the older smartphone screens, you could scratch them much easier then!
I had one such case and the whole scratched screen just seems like it was not yet a smartphone but a regular phone
i had a pocket pc phone when they were first out, it got scratched in the first day I had it.
Passcodes are so important. And I use these wipes for many things. I do not use a screen protector.
I love the Windex electronic wipes, they are useful!
you probably carry you phone in a purse or bag which makes protectors less critical!
I have always used a passcode on my mobile phone, it is very recommendable.
it is truly something that can make a difference! what about cleaning?
To be honest, I do not clean my mobile phone.
you can simply take a soft cloth and spray cleaning fluid on the cloth, then wipe the phone off!
I have a protector. I clean it regularly .. But I don’t have a code. I have to put it high time.
it makes it easier for you to protect yourself! I am glad you have a protector and clean your phone!
I have a screen guard and my husband cleans all our phones every day before leaving for office. We use the same spray and wipe that we use for our TV , laptops and such.
that is really good! you are ahead of the game!!!
That is because hubby is a clean freak and I am clumsy. LOL
that is a good combination! my wife is hyper-organized and that helps me!
I always have a protector for my screens!!
For my gaming console and phone…
even my monitor have one!!
you are ahead of me protecting the monitor! i haven’t used a monitor protector do they work well?
