I have neglected ALibb’s Alphabet Crazy Challenge. Trying to stay caught up. I chose Nandina as I am on the letter N for today.
There are many varieties to choose from. Mine are called Blush Pink Nandina. They do not get very tall. And they offer a pretty color in the spring through fall. They are actually more of a burgundy than a pink color.
The contrast between the mature leaves, which are a rich shade of green, and the new pink leaves, is striking. From spring through fall, these green shrubs are topped with pink leaves!

I saw it at an ornamental plant seller but have never had one.
Happy to hear you actually saw one, many have not.
Maybe because the place where I often get lost is a plant shop…

You know, I haven’t touched the front yard. Since the back yard is full…. Boy, they would look great between the walkway up to the front door.

I did some more research and found they are native to China, Japan and India.
Maybe that’s why she doesn’t see her in our country.
