At yesterday’s walk, I was surprised by this cute squirrel. Common squirrel is a species of squirrel that inhabits the temperate and cold areas of Eurasia, reaching as far east as the Pacific coast. It is adapted to life on trees. Common squirrel lives in various types of forests, but most often in coniferous forests. It is suitable for forested areas measuring at least 50 ha. It is active during the day. As it moves on the ground, it stays close to trees all the time. Outside the mating season, the common squirrel is a solitary squirrel and shares its nest with other peers, especially during the cold winter. It feeds mainly on plant foods – fruits, seeds, fungi and herbs. It also feeds on eggs and young birds and insects.

So lovely! I never have luck taking photos of squirrels.
Thanks for watching and kind comment, my dear friend…they are really very difficult to paint because they are very fast and distrustful
We don’t get squirrels in New Zealand but I like them. They could never import one here as we have precious native birds who need all their eggs with young chicks intact as many of them are an endangered species.
Lovely photo
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear Pamela….Yeah, that wouldn’t be good … they love eggs very much
So cute post & amazing photo!!! Adore watching of squirrels, they are so clever & funny creatures!!!
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear Anastasia…really beautiful animals are just really fast … they don’t like to take pictures
I love squirrels and I love your post
Thanks for watching and kind comment, friend
My pleasure. I will be reading your posts
Thanks for your kindness, my friend … I’ll look into your posts too

Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear friend

Thanks for watching and kind comment, my dear friend…I’m glad you like it
great shot!!! in Maryland most of the squirrels are brown. but there are the very rare black squirrels as well.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear friend…we also find a black squirrel … it is very fast and very difficult to paint
they are very rare in Maryland but always fun to spot!
There are so many of us, they are just so fast and twisted that they are really hard to paint
evolution is funny that way. The black squirrel is more visible in the green forests so more brown squirrels are born.
With us, the squirrel population is really colorful … we have them of all colors
the way to say squirrel in Japanese is RISU
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear friend….very interesting … thanks for the Japanese translation
it just so happens to be one of the Japanese words I know
Also, I only know a word in Japanese … one of them is SAJONARA
most folks will translate sayonara as goodbye, but farewell is closer. it was translated for me as “I don’t expect to see you again in this lifetime”
In all honesty, I really don’t know what it means … I only know the word … I thought it was a greeting
You were lucky enough to be able to photograph it
Thanks for watching and kind comment, dear Vida…I was really lucky because they are very fast
I fail to get a shot of a squirrel
I was really lucky because it’s very difficult to paint, dear Vida
I’ve tried to paint so I know how difficult it is to make a picture
And how did you get the picture, dear Vidocka
When I was in London in 1986, I was chasing squirrels in the park just to get a close up view. Unfortunately I was not able to take a photo of a squirrel.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, my friend
I have always enjoyed the squirrels but for some reason I don’t have any in my yard. Nice photo.
Thanks for viewing and kind comment, dear Carol…I’m glad you like it
We have several squirrels and they are golden brown in colour
Thank you for your visit and kind comment, dear Grace….here you have all the colors … even black is found only very difficult to paint … they are very fast and colorful
