The first thing we did after we bought the property was to sink a well. To our good luck the water diviner told us we will not have to dig too deep. We struck water just about 30 feet deep.
Even in the worst summer this well has not let us down. We have a pump to draw water and pipes are connected wherever we require water.
Despite a continued source of water we use methods to conserve it. We have all kitchen, bathroom and wash basins waste water directed to trees,

As the city grows our water tables go down. Do don’t really have a problem as we recycle our water and collect rain water, I believe conservation is important.
If everyone did that there would be no shortage.
Wow! A good source, I heard the well water is sweeter than the pipe one.
It is pure as no chemical is added to it
We grew up with well water but not any more.
We grew up with well water until we left our shores to seek greener pastures. We are back now in a semi rural town. There is pipe water connection available but we love our well water
Thanks GOD ,we also use well water, pure and good.
Pipe water is mostly chlorinated.
Yes , well water is so pure and Yes there is some shortage
We have city water; and we do not have a water shortage.
My grandparents had a well, I remember well the difference in taste of their water!
Even the food cooked tastes better. Having lived in the city spending our prime years there and now have the blessing of having our own well water we certainly know the difference.
I am glad you are happy with your move!
I live in an area where there is plenty of water … and it’s real mountain, dear friend
We too do not need government water connection
But this is an advantage … the water is edible or watering only
In the news today is the problem of Jakarta with the sinking ground due to the extraction of water from the wells.
Those must be bore wells which are sunk over 100 feet deep.
We have pits in our property to collect rain water and that water finally reaches reservoirs close by. That may not be the reservoir from where we get water but it helps the community
It may come to using wells in Auckland, if they don’t create another few dams for our water supply for an increasing population. I love your way of water conservation. Excellent..
We have the best and cleanest water. That supplied by government is chlorinated.
