I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner in the basement. It has been misbehaving lately IT rapidly cycles on and off and well doesn’t suck. One of the only times that not sucking is a bad thing, not a good thing. Anyway, I wandered off to the internet. I found a vlog (video blog) on Youtube that proposed to solve my problem, but the person started with the following warning “this may void your warranty.” So I went back and searched again. I found a link to the actual Dyson support site and was able to solve my problem in about two minutes. I need a new Hepa filter, and when I got to the part of the troubleshooting that a new Hepa filter was the only answer, a link appeared where I could order it.
That is the new world order for troubleshooting hardware and software for me. I don’t use the advice that will “void my warranty.” That got me thinking; I know that many things in this world will void my warranty. I wondered how many of them I had done on purpose. For example, back in the day, I used to take apart and add parts to my computers. Not as much now, although I replaced video cards and added PCI boards to my computers. Neither of those actions impacts your warranty. But some things do. I used to think years ago that tearing the tag of your pillows voided the warranty of the actual pillow, but I realize now that isn’t the case. It isn’t illegal for me, too, as the owner remove the pillow tag.
What would void the human warranty? That was the question that buzzed around my head as I started writing this morning. What could a human being do that would void the warranty of their existence? I ponded that will meditating this morning, and the answer I came up with was nothing. The universe will accept you for who you are, as long as you except the world. But the warranty, that is a different question. If, I am not saying we do, but if we have a warranty, who are we supposed to go to for authorized repairs? Are doctors the repair shops for the human warranty? Or is it religion that repairs and rebuilds our social guarantee? Or is it yet a 3rd thing.
I sometimes wonder if wondering this, voids my warranty.

Warranty is given by the manufacturer, doctors are just repair people, religion is man made community rituals often just rituals, go back to your maker, he will fix it for you.
what if your maker is closed for Covid-19?
If my life warranty was say at least 80 years my soul mates death made it at least 5 years less that is how I felt afterward.
i understand that- it is why i wandered that way yesterday. What is the limit to our warranty.
A warranty is not a guarantee! Check the definitions, Doc.
A tiny riddle, about the word, guarantee:
“Abram went up the mountain to sacrifice his son Isack. Abram was about to kill his son when he looked up and saw a ram which he then sacrificed instead. After that moment, he was known as Abraham. Likewise, Jesus was known as Jesus Christ, until he was baptized by John, and he was then known as Christ, Jesus. So too were there several other, Biblical figures, for instance, Saul became Paul from the moment he arrived at Damascus, which means crossroads, i.e. “his crossroads” and Mary, Jesus’ mother was told by the angel, that she would bear Jesus, but she argued at first. Only when she “pondered” his words, she conceived. What happened, at some point in their lives, that connects them to each other, and could also guarantee your connection to them?
A warranty is a specific organization vouching for their product. A guarantee is broader. The opposite is true as well a guarantee is not a warranty.
But this a question then instead of what direction does the river flow. It flows downhill.
from Miriam webster dictionary
A warranty is a guarantee of the integrity of a product and of the maker’s responsibility for it. In a sense, guarantee is the more general term and warranty is the more specific (that is, written and legal) term. But a closer look at these words shows a relationship that is even closer than that: they were originally one and the same.
“The guarantee is a step ahead of warranty wherein the company is so confident of their product, that they offer repair or replacement of the product. In short, if there is any problem with the product, the company will first try to repair the product and then if not repaired, it will issue a free replacement.” (marketing91.com)
yes, the guarantee is the general term, the warranty is specific to one product!
Very interesting thinking. I haven’t thought in that direction yet.
i was wondering off by myself – never a good idea.
I think I warranty is voided when we die. That simple. But life is never the simple is it? I will say that a broken heart makes you a different and stronger person. Maybe that is how our warranty is voided and a new one begins at that point of heartache.
that is a unique way of presenting the concept, thanks, more to think about!
Just my thoughts for now. They can change from day to day.
i know and understand that completely. Just gives me another way to consider the problem!
