I’ve been quite a fan of Traditional Breakfast, which usually consist of:
1) Half boiled eggs
2) Coffee or Tea
3) Toasted Bread (usually with Kaya spread)
But of course the combination traditional breakfast have evolved slightly over the years and there are more options on the menu.
The picture above is the half boiled egg, with Dark Soya sauce and pepper, that’s usually how we eat it. (Although some will put Soy Sauce instead)

Lovely, I love them so much! Yummy!
I like eggs on toast alibb but am more likely to eat them around midnight than for breakfast. Also I like my eggs runny. Usually I drink them raw in a glass of milk, whipped up very smooth and flavored with vanilla.
I rarely have breakfast. Everyone sez it is the most important meal of the day, but I’ve been skipping it for decades…
Haha, maybe you could spend the next decade bringing it back to your life :p
I don’t miss it, and I am more efficient without that meal
It’s a breakfast for my taste
Haha, glad to know 🙂
Looks good! tell me, please, what is ‘kaya’?
Kaya is famous in Singapore and Malaysia. It’s a kind of coconut jam.
It’s usually a greenish paste that is sweet! It’s superb with bread!!
Oh I think I saw it in an Asian shop recently. I will buy it next time and try it on toast 🙂
I’ll suggest you try butter sugar first (place slices of butter and then sprinkle sugar)… if you can take the sweetness, than you probably will like Kaya.
But of course, you can go straight and try Kaya 🙂 Just a suggestion
Thank you for the advice. When I was a kid, my Dad used to eat that (‘sugar butter’) and I loved it!
Looks delicious! ?
It’s the first time I hear of dark soya sauce, I guess its taste is close to teriyaki sauce.
Hmm… yes and no… terriyaki is unique …
I’d think soy sauce is closer to terriyaki …
The only change I would make is hard boiled eggs.
Oh, so you prefer hard boiled to half boiled?
I prefer it the other way round … for hard boil I’d prefer to make into egg-mayo :p
It looks very good only I would be hungry after such a breakfast
Â
Lol, then eat more 😛
Yes 3 such portions would be probably enough my friend haha
Wahaha, we’ve a saying,
“it’s a blessing to be able to eat (a lot)!”
but then you’ve to be careful with eggs!
Human body is not made to have more than 2 yolks a day!
Thanks for the kind advice … I really did not know that just two yolks
We have similarities about half-cooked eggs, the rest, in my country with so many tribes and customs, traditional breakfast can be very different from one region to another.
I thought so too … we do have some variations between dialect groups too but this one is pretty classic…
Perhaps you can share some of your traditional breakfast with us? I thought it would be fantaslicious! LOL :p
Interesting question! To this day I have never posted pictures of food in any media.
Looks great Alibb, Yum!!
It’s easy to make, maybe you can try it too 🙂
The set of traditional breakfast looks familiar to me and I wonder which country you are from. I seldom eat half-boiled eggs and drink coffee nowadays, and my breakfast has changed to hard boiled eggs and cereal drink.
LOL, I’m from Asia, perhaps you’re too?
I’m less a fan of hard-boiled because the yolk can be dry…
