This beach is at Waikato heads, the Taupo lake goes from the south and flows up to Waikato heads. This is right by the mouth of the Waikato river.
Waikato heads is a very remote area near Auckland and there are a few people but not many. It is on the West coast and I doubt if a lot of tourists come here often
A person here is surf casting, you will see a fishing rod up in the air. I don’t recomend you do surf casting near rocks, I have come to grief trying to surf cast near rocks several times.
Surf casting takes a while for a city girl like me to perfect and I have definitely not perfected it, but my brother Denis Moresby is an expert on fishing and invented the surf caster, attached to a fishing rod, that extends the distance the line goes into the water. It really does work
Fishing takes patience. I believe that in any skill, try not to get too over anxious.

A pleasant beach for fishing, although I myself am not fond of doing it. Yes, patience is what is needed in many aspects of life and wise ways to live it safely.
Fishing is food on the table, I like eating fresh fish but don’t miss the fish scales on the lawn, it is not my first priority but it is for my brother Denis.
Thanks Albert.
Enjoying a holiday with your brother is special happiness, right?
Well, you may find my brother interesting…I really like my brother but he is unusual.
i love surf fishing, I have a really good friend and we go to Delaware (near where I live) and spend the day on the beach surfcasting for lunch.
Sometimes we enjoy what we catch.
Sometimes we go to a restaurant 🙂
That is great, I would enjoy that with a friend who also enjoyed that too.. Fresh fish is great ..Thanks so much Doc…
I have no clue about fishing, I live hundreds of miles away from any water body.
Fishing is not differcult you just put a line in the water and wait for the fish to bite.
What is hard, for me, is people who tell me that my dress is not right for fishing and the walk I do is not right and that I am a stupid fisherman.
That same person stood beside another surfcaster. Who did not walk the fisherman’s walk who did not dress in the right clothes, he was a big fat Maori and he threw the line in the sea and drew in the biggest fish in the fishing competition
You don’t have to know anything, just be lucky
A great capture. I do not fish leave alone trying the surf casting (lol)
Thanks Grace I only fish when with my brother or others that fish at the time…I am not missing not having to clean up fish scales on the lawn….
Very cold here but a nice photo and thoughts.
Thanks so much Carol, glad you like it.
Beautiful countryside. I haven’t tried fishing yet.
It is not differcult to do….Thanks Vidocka.
I so try to be that way, but I am a worry wart.
Yes, I worry too much , but when I realise I cant be an expert as my brother tells me that a 2 year old could surf cast better than me, I began to see all that so called expertise irrelevant.
A Maori stood next to him a fat Maori and he did nothing out of the book Denis read and he won the fishing competition
Catching fish is our pure luck….
