Thursday Reflections – Reflection vs Refraction – Water glass

Starting from a comment on my previous post where Alex said that, technically, in the picture is a reflection, although I presented it as a refraction, today I made an experiment to show the difference between the two types of photography; reflection and refraction. The result can see in the photos below.

The application of science to photography is a great way of getting creative images, believe me!

I am not an expert in physics but I remember learning that reflection occurs when light is sent back from a surface and does not pass through it, while refraction occurs when light passes through an object of denser mass, and the light is bent as it goes through.

A reflection is the image of something in a mirror or on any reflective surface.

In a refraction  is always obtained an inverted image.

I share these photos with Thursday Reflection Challenge
