Three blackbirds sitting in my cypress tree. I am sure there is a poem there for those who are inspired to write about it.
I snapped this photo as I was out walking in my yard. The blackbirds had a nest below in the cypress tree. They were sitting at the very top. Funny, there were about a dozen until I moved to snap the photo.
Blackbirds stick together especially during baby season. They protect each other’s nests and babies. Kind of cool to watch this happen. Have never seen that with any other bird in my backyard.
More things I have earned in nature while in my backyard.

No

This is very interesting, I didn’t know it! Great capture as well!
Thanks, I didn’t either just learned from watching.
that is amazing Carol. I’ve seen birds flying away from their nests appearing to be injured. That way the predator follows them instead of the babies!
Yes it is another amazing nature fact I learned this year.
I feel another quiz coming 🙂
Maybe, but others may not feel the same. We will see.
I have never seen birds protecting the babies of other birds before.
I think it has to be rare. I have never seen it in my backyard. Just the opposite actually.
Fantastic shot. You were lucky to have noticed this miracle of nature.
Thanks, I just looked up and there they were!
That’s a beautiful picture, dear Carol
Thanks my dear lado, it was a surprise photo.
That is great that you notice that, its rather good to read.
Thank you Pam, I just looked up to see the noise.
This is remarkable that you have noticed. Something like this miracle is not common. Soon I tried a neighbor who was a hunter how I could tell who was the male and what the female was. Now I know the female has a yellow beak. We have a great hit with this photo again.
Yes these trees are very tall. They get up to the very top and sing very loud. Yes the males do have the yellow beak and the fame is smaller and more of a brown color. Thank you.
Typo….. the female is smaller and more of a brown color.
Now, they’re doing the teamwork!!
And it indeed surprises me … I only know of birds attacking others’ chicks instead of helping
I know, this is a first for me. But they are all the same breed.
Great shot, your every image is inspiring!
Thank you so much, this was not planned.
Never heard this before , thank you for sharing this knowledge
I have never seen it happen either.
