Looking back in my archives to find a photo for today’s Sky Challenge. We have had so much rain. The sky lately has been full of clouds and rain.
This photo is one of my favorites. It was taken while standing on my deck, looking towards the eastern sky, instead of the west like my sunset photos are always taken. The clouds had an interesting swirl. And at the top I caught the moon as well. The sky offers all kind of surprises. You never know what you will get when you snap a photo.

I really love the shape, the texture and colour of this cloud in the sky, well done
You have beautiful skies there. I live in a rain shadow and the sun is out here but I can see the convergence zone of clouds off in the distance across the water. … Beautiful sky but slightly ominous.

The sky in Chicago is usually quite blah. I grew up in Kansas City where we had great skies with anvil-shaped clouds. Chicago, eh.
I can imagine Kansas would be beautiful. We are just having thunderstorms, one after another with heat and humidity.
It is very nice out there. I lived about a block away from a woods and spent a lot of my grade school years wandering in it.

That’s understandable why it can be your favorite, because the sky looks special there, especially with the presence of the moon.

It is not a sunset. It was taken form the other direction, from my deck.

Thanks but this is not a sunset. Taken from the opposite side of the sky. Only the clouds at the time of a sunset. 🙂
