Rich in vitamins and minerals, rhubarb

I decided to plant another medicinal and very useful plant in the garden.

Rhubarb may be unjustly a somewhat overlooked plant, as it contains many vitamins and minerals that have a beneficial effect on our health. In warmer climates it can thrive all year round, otherwise, it can be enjoyed straight from the home garden especially in spring and summer. It is not demanding to grow and can grow up to 15 years. As it has a slightly bitter taste, it can be combined with sweet berries and some other fruit, but if you want to get a sweeter rhubarb, look for one with red stems.

You can use it in pies, pastries, cookies, biscuits, muffins, pizzas, sauces, rice dishes, salads, drinks, or make unusual rhubarb jam or rhubarb bread.

Caution, use only stems, leaves can be poisonous!
