I always enjoy visiting Cotton, the rescued owl at the local state park. She was found as a baby in the snow and named by the park ranger as Cotton. He said she looked like a ball of cotton.
Thank goodness for these park rangers. Always on the lookout for animals in need. She also has a friend next to her in a separate cage. I talked about her in a different post. I don’t know anything about her yet but I will will eventually.

Never seen an owl but it looks cute. Is this old belief when an owl stands on the gate of a house it ushers in bad luck?
Cotton is precious, I love owls!
I saved a cat … who after the solution lived long in our home
The first thing I ever rescued was a falcon. I was 9 and at summer camp. This little tiny bird dropped from the nest, and stayed by the side of the path for almost a whole day. We waited to see if the parents would rescue it, when they didn’t we took in. He made and and was released. Since then, I can’t count how many animals I have rescued.. Good to see Cotton is doing good. Enjoying the sunshine I see!
Wow I would love to rescue or even see a falcon up close. It is so cool to rescue any animal. Cotton seems to be thriving the best she can.
I’m so glad Cotton was rescued and can enjoy her life now. Owls are so cute.
Yes and so am I. Good to see you.
I remember rescuing many cats that were street cats who became part of our family in Lake Charles recently like Bert who was adopted around Christmas time last year.
Yes I rescued a cat and her kittens once and it was amazing. Good for you!
My sister and nephew made the decision to adopt Bert since he would come to the front door to eat his meals and we loved him so much he is part of our family.
Cotton is beautiful. I used to rescue baby wood ducks that fell out of their tree. I remember feeding them oat flakes mixed with peanut butter after their mother bird abandoned them.
Yes she really is Ann. And I am so glad the ranger found her. Awww baby wood ducks. Good for you.
are they planning to release cotton back into the wild?
No they told me she cannot fly, therefor she will always be taken care of.
if a bird of prey can’t fly, it has no place in the wild
Great to see and read about Cotton. Lovely Owl
Yes she has been at the park a few years now.
The lucky cute. It must be sad if I can’t rescue something in need.
Yes and I am so thankful for these park rangers.
I have not had this happiness to help animals in distress … so it’s even better
Neither have I rescued one.
We rescued a chick and nurse it from baby (no feathers) to full grown.
That is a great thing you did.
It was a fun and special experience
And one you will never forget.
I rescued Eclipse from bad weather conditions. He comes and goes as he pleases, but I feel good about helping him.Hhe is mine in my heart.
You reminded me of a cat and kittens I rescued several years ago.
