When I think of the view from the hill, I cannot forget it. At the foot – a wide ocean to the horizon. In the evenings, the glittering sun sets in the water. The bottom of the clouds is pink, as are the faces of lovers standing on both the hill and the coast.
But maybe the world should not be so shamelessly beautiful when animals die scared in the burning forest somewhere; when a homeless have no shelter above the head, and orphan children cry…
If I sat at home and closed curtains that would keep my peace, and I would not see such a beautiful pink miracle, would it make me not think of the pain of the world?
