Any fruit is first a flower.
Starting from this reality I thought it was interesting to start a photography project entitled “From flowers to fruits and seeds”.
American pokeweed is a poisonous, herbaceous perennial plant in the pokeweed family Phytolaccaceae. The flowers are green to white, followed by purple to almost black berries which are a food source for songbirds. The plant contains tannins and saponins, which are not tolerated by the human body. However, after a particular preparation, which involves boiling or roasting, young leaves and shoots can be consumed.

I have never heard of or seen pokeweed but I can say that the fruit looks like blueberries
Pokeweed is native to the United States .
There’s a lot of pokeweed in my neighborhood.
Sometimes it can become an invasive plant.
Some times I think we have more invasive plants around here than native ones.
