Nearly two years ago, Albert H. and I had a long discussion in comments about the reality of the time of day for posting. Back then, honestly, some fewer people posted multiple posts a day every day. That number has increased (authors who publish more than four posts a day every single day). The problem is that we aren’t seeing the interaction that we need on the site for everyone to be able to make money. There are many of us who carr on long conversations in comments trying to help other authors. But for the most part, people aren’t commenting as they did in the past. I truly understand the loss of virils from commenting on other people’s posts is frustrating.
But I did want to make sure that people understood a little of the way for that change. Some people comment on many posts but never respond to the author. They swoop in like a seagull and leave. They are the harvesters in the sense that they get what they want from a many gaining virils quickly perspective but don’t contribute to the community. Watch for them; they are still on the site. The admins decided to end that behavior by rewarding more community-focused conversations. I do agree with everyone that it is frustrating, but if you want to earn more here, it is merely the time to converse! Please leave a note for the author telling them you stopped by. But when they reply to you, take the time to have the conversation.
Some so many authors have fantastic conversations on the site. It is joy sometimes to have those conversations! It is the primary reason I continue to stop by the website. I enjoy the interaction with so many other people. I love getting their point of view and evaluating if there is more for me to consider. I came up with a bunch of fun things to add or to write about if anyone wants to use them!
- Sharing is caring (push posts to social)!
- My comment thread is deeper than yours!
- I converse because I care
- Hit reply, and away we go!
Sorry, I can’t help with the dadism. I got a book when my daughter was born that said how to be a dad. The first thing it said was, “in all cases, use dadisms!”

At least this site still pays peanuts, (I am a peanut myself, but I still have not gotten any peanuts yet from here, after so many years on the site).
Another site stopped paying their authors altogether, and they only lasted a few months after that.
You cannot submit new articles there anymore.
I see the site is still getting multiple views, though, as it was very cleverly named, as wikinut, with the word “wiki” as a part of the name, so the owners must still be making money off of the views.
I had over 500 articles written there, still getting 300 to 400 views a day, as did many other writers there too.
It was a good site, because even your articles from years ago, are still searched for, and are still read.
Here, past articles are just that, past, and seldom catch another view, ever.
really?
i have found older articles here still move, i get quite a few external views.
But, in the new Virily, what you do is the way to make more. You have conversations on your posts and on the posts of others.
that is the best way to move forward and if the goal is to get views, that is what will help!
Yes, I have noticed if someone finds one of my latest articles, and likes it, they sometimes do go back and read some of my older previous articles then too.
I have found that not many people will follow the conversations of others on other’s posts, mainly, they just follow replies to themselves.
I like to read every comment, and every reply, as it helps me to form my own reply better then too.
i am in the middle on that one. I do sometimes read comments but mostly i want to convey my personal thoughts, so I make a comment, then I read the comments of others if they are interesting.
Yes, we do need to draw a line in the sand somewhere, unless, we want to stay all day on the beach…lol…
A teacher I once had many years ago said that it was easier to know there was a line, than to exist in the sand without a line.
Yes, and I think that he was not lying about that too!
It might not be true though, of those who have their heads buried in the sand.
Lines, or no lines, would make any difference to them, unless one (lion) came up, and bit them in the backside…lol…
you took an interesting turn. What line would the person with their head buried in the sand?
Now I have to think that is a lot to ponder.

I will do what I can with the fewer spare that I have these days, Doc.
that is all you can do, and thank you so much for that!
I think we can only work together to improve this website. Unfortunately, some do not understand this or do not want to understand it.
some are mad right now, let’s keep rowing they will catch up!
Some are really a little “weird”. I see no reason to be angry.
I can’t tell the full extent or rationale for their anger, but it is part of life sometimes. Some get angry over things. It is part of life.
You are right. Some get angry for no real reason.
i think that is the hardest part overall, i feel bad when people can’t put their anger away. It hurts them and i wish I could help.
I am trying Doc. And have not given up yet. Like Ghost said, only a few to carry the load it seems. BUT I will keep going!
i know you will, and we will get more on board. I have an idea. But i need to frame it a bit. Will share soon!
Okay, I am doing my best, but I can’t answer the last question. Because a few of us cannot carry an entire site. There truly needs to be a community working and talking for the good of all to be successful.
Currently, I feel “safe” enough to express my opinions and try to do so in a manner that hurts no one.
I have to wonder how many word warriors we have who are ready to work through the hard part to get the reward.
i think that too few are carrying too much right now. But, there may be a way. I will share soon, I have a couple of ideas!
