Here is some Rose I hold special and Im pleased to keep this plant. It is a mini Rose and my eldest sister Janet told me it is actually a Sweet heart Rose.
Mum always called it, “Uncle Harmond’s Rose!” and I remember a kind old man we used to visit as a child in Ruakaka with a very friendly Black Cat, all Black, no white that liked being brushed. He had an old Blue boat in the beach that you could go rowing in, it was a dingy. My elder brothers and sister rowed. He had a small fencible cottage by the beach.
In his 80s and 90s Uncle Harmond was often on the roof, fixing it. He never complained about old age.
You have some great memories to go with this rose! Hang on to them.
Thanks so much Karen…

My pleasure, dear Pamela
What a great memory, and rose. That color always reminds me of antiques. I don’t know why. I do love that color.
Thanks Kim, I think I know why, every time I go inside an antique shop there is something there with tiny pink delicate roses and I recently went into such a shop. the woman behind the counter was very interesting to talk to
what a wonderful memory to share Pam. Thank you! It sounds like the magic of Uncle Hammond visits has stayed with you!
