Macro Monday ~ The knight star (Amaryllis) brightens the winter days

In December, I decided to buy a beautiful flower – amaryllis after a long time. This flower really brightens the dull winter days. No other indoor plant flower can invigorate winter days with as much color as amaryllis. The knight star (Hippeastrum), native to South and Central America, is a bulb with a completely normal vegetation cycle when planted outdoors. It was planted in our gardens about half a century ago at the same time as gladioles. If the conditions are right, we can force the plant to bloom at any time of the year, not just in the fall or winter. With a knight star, all we need is patience, and its heat requirements in heated houses are usually no problem. Caring for this magnificent ornamental plant is simple.
