You’ve probably seen the grasshoppers jumping through the grass. But do you know someting about them? I do not know too much. What I’m saying here is what I noticed watching them through the camera lens.
Adult grasshopper is from a few millimeters to a few centimeters long , and the color varies from pale red to greenish-gray. Its color is often given by the environment, being a defensive method.
Grasshopper is the most greedy insect. It eats daily a quantity of food equal to the weight of her body. That’s why it could be a terrible pest.
The life cycle of grasshopper consist in three stages: egg, nymph and adult. In the nymph stage, grasshopher looks like an adult with the only difference – it does not have wings.
I found the guy in the photo laying in the sun on this poppy flower, waiting for me to take a picture for the Macro Monday Challenge

This insect is only 8-9 mm long. Do you know the development stage of this guy?

Great macro shot of the grasshopper, don’t often see them here
Is that a cricket? I think so, i could be wrong though.
You’re the second person who tell me it’s cricket. It can be! I do not know for sure.
I also think it is a cricket, but I also agree that we could be wrong
I don’t think that’s a grasshopper. it looks more like a cricket to me…
It could be! I thought it is Long Horned grasshoppers, but maybe I’m wrong. They are part of the same family as crickets. As I said, I’m not a specialist.
I knew the crickets were hiding during the day. This guy liked the sun!?
Images with brilliant colors!
The creature was greedy, fortunately, they did not eat humans.
They did not eat humans. As far as I know, humans eat grasshopper! ?
Nice contrast. And yes the grasshoppers can be invasive pests, eating all of your blooms. And I have seen them change colors to camouflage.
These insects can destroy whole hectares of grain crops in a very short time.
Ops , i am scared of this grasshoper
???Are you serious? It is very very small insect!
Thank you for sharing great information about grasshopper.
My pleasure Sharon! These are just observations. I’m not a specialist!
