The passion flower comes in many colors, Purple is the usual color , but you get them in white, red , and maroon. However, these do not have the edible fruits. The fruiting variety is different.
The passion flower is a vine like the fruiting variety and blooms abundantly. I have tried growing these trough various methods but they somehow elude me. This picture is taken from my friends garden.
I love the deep red color against the dark green leaves. The do look a pretty sight on a white fence and when they are in bloom.

That is a very lovely flower and wonderful color. I have seen them in botanical gardens.
These vines get get difficult to manage if left to grow wildly.
Very beautiful and attractive, unfortunately the fruit cannot be eaten. But why? Is it poisonous?
I do not think it is poisonous but there is no pulp. The edible variety is pulpy and juicy.
Now I understand. This one has a different fruit structure, unlike the others, which I call markisa.
Stunning flower. I have not seen her in red yet
I just posted a white one for review. I hope you will like it.
Yes, your flower looks like passion, red passion. Beautifully done.
The color is indeed the symbol of passion.
I have not seen but this flower from photo is beautiful.
Thank you Milica, appreciate your visit.
Have not seen the red one before. It is stunning.
Glad you like it, I love the red more than the burgundy.
Beautiful image of flower, thank you for sharing

If you believe or did not even know that there is any other color other than blue ….. in our race only blue … I do not know if there are other colors to grow except I have not seen other colors … it is a wonderful flower … even better than blue
Lado, I have posted the white one too, I hope you get to see it when it is approved. They are so delicately pretty.

lacho59 As always you are right , its botanical name is plassiflora.
You have brought to me something I have never seen. A red one? Geeze, that is so pretty. I had no idea they came in all red. Great macro for today!
Thank you Kim_Johnson, I am glad you got to see this one. I love the vibrant color on the fence.
It’s a lovely flower. I haven’t seen a passion flower but I know I already seen a passion fruit.
I love passion fruit in my dessert. I love the flavor.
awesome macro capture! Hopefully, your husband didn’t have to drive 10km for this picture!
Nah, this is from a friends place not to far from where I live. Thanks for the visit Doc.
