Sharing a photo from my spring garden. Tiger Lily is a favorite flower. The blooms are as big as your hand. The butterflies and hummingbirds love the pollen. These plants are perennial, meaning they return each spring to bloom again. My favorite kind of plant in the garden.
Tiger lilies are poisonous to cats. Thankfully my cats are indoor only. The stray cats seem to know which plants to stay away from.
This photo is for today’s Macro Monday challenge. More little things to share with you.

Beautiful Lily! What other colors do you have? I have the bright red ones here. They pop up here and there in the yard. It makes me want to see the old homestead with the original gardens.
OMG, such beauty is poisonous to cats?! What a pity! Anyway, we can enjoy the view of these flowers and keep our cats on the safe distance.
Yes they are toxic to cats but mine are safe indoors.
You are a good guide for Brendel and the Dude. Keeping them safe is your passion and it shows! Love the picture of the flower, hoping for blue skies here today!
They stay indoors but it is still good to know what is safe. Thanks! I hope you have blue skies too. We have rain coming.
today’s rain for you is tomorrow’s nasty weather for us
It should arrive here later tonight.
due for us around 5 pm Wednesday.
Beautiful flower, dear Carol … I didn’t know this flower was toxic to cats
Thanks, I learned this recently as well.
You know this proverb that we learn our whole lives and eventually the dumb die
Never heard it exactly like that but I understand.
Beautiful flower , I never know that plant was poisonous to cats
Thanks, it is a favorite, my cats are indoor only.
I have these in my garden. I know that the sap causes an irritation but I am not sure if they are poisonous. My dogs don’t go near them anyways.
The most dangerous and potentially life-threatening lily ingestions by cats involve lilies belonging to the genera Lilium (true lilies) and Hemerocallis. Examples of some of these toxic lilies include Asiatic, Easter, Japanese Show, red, rubrum, stargazer, tiger, Western, and wood lilies (Lilium species) and daylilies (Hemerocallis species). Even small ingestions (such as less than 1-2 petals or leaves) – even the pollen or water from the vase – may result in severe, acute kidney failure.

The beautiful ones are often the poisonous one
Yes it seems that way right!
With a size like that you need no flowers.
Cats know. They are smart.
Yes they are smart but it is also helpful to know which plants are poisonous as a cat owner.
Such gorgeous vibrant colors. Why are the most beautiful flowers poisonous?
That is just how it goes it seems, kind of unfair right!
A very lovely flower. Best to keep it from curious cats.
Yes that is what I said too.
I didn’t know this plant was toxic. Although she is stunning, I would not have this flower because I have a very curious cat. ?
Yes it is to cats. That is what I read.
you’re right. my ex-roommate’s cat died from eating lillies
That is too bad.
